You have to be the computers administrator to change any values on any hard drive on your computer click start control panel user accounts on the users tab click the name of the computer administrator you must have full control click start click to open on my computer you should see your usb drive could be E: or something right click select properties there will be an array of options select the sharing tab option then advanced sharing make sure you have a tick in the share this folder box then click permissions make sure you have all 3 boxes ticked full control changes and read in windows 7 click start control panel user accounts click on the administrators account if you have made one or you will have to create one in windows XP click start right click on my computer select open
Right click the icon of your usb drive (It should be E:/ or something)
Click Properties in the menu that comes up

need more dtails on what you tried ? which operating system ? are you the computers administrator ? You can remove write protection from your drive using the below method: Open start menu, in the search bar type regedit and press enter. This will open the registry editor. Navigate to the following path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies If the registry key Storage Device Policies does not exist, you will need to create it manually. Double click the key Write Protect in the right window and set the value to 0 in the Value Data Box and press OK button Restart your computer

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

right click to reinstall drivers

if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems for a computer and its parts

How to get the pc games to the removable disc(J) sandisk. Can not Move them to Flashdrive disc.

Hello,

It is not completely clear if you mean large PC games or if you mean small PC games.

By small PC games I mean games similar to the games that come with Windows and that appear in the 'All Programs -> Games' folder. Such as 'Free Cell', 'Hearts' or 'Solitaire'.

By large games I mean games like 'World of Warcraft' or 'Mortal Combat'.

Also, do you want to install the games on your Flashdrive or store them there?

If you want to store a large game on your flash drive. Place the CD/DVD with the game on it in your CD/DVD drive and insert your Flashdrive in a USB port.

Open 'WIndows Explorer' or 'My Computer'. Locate the CD/DVD drive that you inserted the game disk in (most likely your D: drive).

In the 'Edit' menu select 'Select All' and then in the 'Edit' menu select 'Copy'.

Then locate the Flashdrive in 'WIndows Explorer' or 'My Computer'. And in the 'Edit' menu select 'Paste'.

While this will copy the files from your game's CD/DVD disk to your Flashdrive you may or may not be able to install the game from your Flashdrive.

You can use this same procedure to copy small games to your Flashdrive from your Hard Drive.
You will need to know where on your hard drive they are located. And they may or may not run from your Flashdrive.

Also you may be able to install and run games from your Flashdrive, When you run the Setup program from you game disk you will usually be given the option to select a alternative location to install the game.
Select your Flashdrive at that point and it may install correctly to your Flashdrive. If it does you should be careful to always use the same USB port or the game won't run.

Hope that helps.

TDK Trans-IT 8gb flash drive is unable to format. It gives an error that says this disk is write protected, please assist.

get a copy of the software from TDK itself at:

http://www.tdk-media.eu/downloads/trans_it_usb_password_pr_english.exe

it's a self contained .exe file no installation needed. This will format your flash for you if you need to and the program gets retained.

if you want a pc based format copy the software somewhere in your hard drive. in myu computer right click your flashdisk, format (fat 32 better). There clean as a whistle. copy back flashlock, then partition as you wish.

How to remove write protect on my usb flash drive

On USB stick, there is a "Lock/Unlock" slide bar on the opposite end of USB port. It uses the symbols of a "lock" and an "open hasp lock" to show that the device is "locked" (write-protected) or "unlocked" or not write-protected. remove the lock
