Question about Video Cameras
Power to camera still ok, but now only get a plain white screen on the viewer. Connected camcorder to computer, but is not recognising the drive. Have approx 10 hours of footage on camera so would like to save this even if drive cannot be repaired. Any thoughts/advice welcome.

SOURCE: Filesize query
It's probably not out of line. A one hour minDV holds about 13.5 gigs. AVI files need a LOT of space. Yes, it will be compressed before it goes to DVD, but compression (also called rendering) usually isn't done during the capture process. How much hard drive space do you have? You probably need more.

You may try some recovery software to rescue the files on your recorder, here are some for your option.
Photo Video Music Recovery (for Windows)
Photo Video Music Recovery for Mac
Both programs can also recover video and music.
Note: Before your files are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the camcorder in case the original files(your recordings) are overwritten.
