This is normal operation, every 8 to 10 hours the heater in your freezer section turns on to defrost ice and frost from evaporator coil, this melting water hitting the heater is what is making popping and hissing noises.

The defrost drain is blocked. It normally defrosts in the middle of the night, so you are greeted by a puddle of water when you get your milk for coffee. You clear it all up and it is fine all day, you come down next morning and water again. Correct?
If everything is cooling right, take the front grille off at the bottom of the fridge and move the plastic drip tray. It might be touching the motor or pipe, causing the noise.
It sounds like the drain for the defrost water is pluged. You can remove the back panel inside the freezer(ice maker will have to coe out first) and access the drain in the rear center of the freezer. Check the drain. It can be defrsted with a hair dryer(shut off the referigerator first) good luck, snugglepants
Hi, The defrost drain behind the rear freezer panel is plugged. Remove the rear panel and clear the ice away from the drain. Then you will need to flush the drain hole with hot water to make sure it is open. Some models require an after market drain heat kit. Please get me your model # and I can look this up to let you know if you need that heat kit.
1.check if the fan inside the freezer is running 2. if ref runs none stop, defrost timer is out. 3. or it could be the high limit that paired in series with the defrost heater good luck!
no ice in freezer section??? not able to keep meat frozen , is it making ice??? sounds like a compressor issuew and not covered by manufacture warr is generally not a worthwhile repair
