Call a licensed and experienced electrician. Most ranges run at 240 volts (hence the 4 wires). Inexperienced persons working on electrical wiring can result in injury, fire and even death.

We have a smeg a2a range , the main oven trips the consumer unit when we turn it on the small oven still works fine

You have a short, probably a wire came loose and is welded to the frame. I assume hte consumer unit is the braker for the stove in your panel.

I purchased a new Goodman AC/Heat inside and out side units, am getting ready to run the wiring to the sub panel, Not sure what wire to use from the main braker box to the sub box have found different...

http://www.encorewire.com/docs/amp%20voltage.pdf is a diagram of what size wire and type you need for different amperage. As you can see the 10/3 recommendation is good for a maximum of 30 amps in copper and 25 in aluminum.

I haven't found the CKL36AR36 installation guide, so I don't don't know which circuit breaker size you need to install. But it should be listed in your installation guide that you got with your unit. Make sure that you have the correct disconnect within 6 feet of the unit to meet code.

A 60 Amp breaker (three phase) powers an 125 amp main lug 3 phase panel is that k or do i need a bigger braker. the wires are #8 THHN.

The breaker that feeds the panel and the wire are what determines the rating. The panel has to be at least as high as the breaker. It can be more, and no problem. The problem I see is that the wiring is undersized for the 60 amp breaker. You should have #6 wires or change the breaker to a 50 amp. If that is not enough for your load, you must change the wiring. It also depends on the type of wire. THHN will have the largest amperage, but if it is TW, it will be lower. Rule of thumb would be #10-30 amp, #8-40-50 amp, #6-50-60 amp, #4-70-90 amp and #2-95-135 amp. There are other factors, such as derating etc. but if you wanted to increase to 100 amp, I would run #2 thhn. Hope this helps.

Where are the fusses Iblew the braker and now ther is no power to the stove even when braker back on

Hi,
There are no fuses for this....
With your description it would seem more like the wiring is bad at the terminal block where the cord hooks fast at the block, the outlet is bad where the cord plugs in, or there is a wire burnt off inside the range...

All of these are common causes of the type of failure you have experienced...
I would start with the outlet and check for power with a meter there and then follow the power till you find the problem...

To adequately troubleshoot this you will need to have a meter and know how to use it...

The red 20amp braker at the bottom of my box keep berking with only a small amont of things pluged in. Any part of the house THE SAME BRAKER brakes . is that right? The same braker?

sounds to me that the breaker is getting weak, try replacing breaker with new one,if it still trips then you have electrical problem in a circuit.

Remove the back panel from the control panel to access the start switch. If there are 4 wires on the start switch, replace the start switch.

I removed my old oven. which was ran off a 2wire. the new stove is a 220v. how do i connect 2wire wires to outlet

You can not, a range has to use 3 wires or 4 wires. To put it in you need to run a 220v plug to where the stove is. Was your previous range a gas range? That is the only range I can think of that ran off a two wire. Anyway, you can add a 220v wire right off the breaker box and run it to your stove. These parts are easily found at a hardware store like Lowes or Home Depot.

I need a wiring diagram hook up for a Jenn air 201595D Range top & also for a GE Double oven JKP36G0D1B0

Cook top manuals and installation.

Could not find installation manual on oven but did find manual. If you are just trying to wire to the house wiring you need to conect this way. Yo uwill have 3- 4 wires from the house. 1 white, 2 black or 1 black and 1 red. From range hook white to white Black to black or red they both are the hot line. and the other black or red to black or red from the house. If you have bare wires that is the ground There is 2 ways to do the hook up on the ground. 1st way is if you have ground in box from house wire them together. 2nd way is if there is no groung just wire it up with the white wire that is the netural line. It will be fine that way. If you can see in you main braker box the netural and the ground go to the same bus bar.
