All you have to do is on your remote push setup and then LANGUAGE and then on your remote push 5 4 3 2 1 0 and then the menu will come up and then there is a hammer and a screw driver or something and click on that and then click on the parking brake override and turn it on then puch setup again

If you have the old firmware then all you need to do is ground the parking brake wire OR if you have the new firmware(just bought the system) a toggle switch is involved: 1 - connect e-brake wire from dvd unit to the switch 2 - connect a ground wire from switch to the unit chassis(any good metal grounding surface will do) 3 - pop in a dvd, toggle the switch back and forth 2 or 3 times depending on what wire you placed where...and voilaa!! your dvd system should work in motion!!
STEP ONE. Ground the E-Brake wire. No matter which method you use, you must ground the brake detection wire. I suggest you tap it into the ground wire on your wiring harness (ensures a good ground).
FACTORY RESET METHOD (not permanent)
1 Go to the Menu 2 Get to the Settings Menu 3 Select <yes> to Reset to Factory Settings.
Have recently heard complaints of this method not being permanent, as this is needed whenever they want to watch a DVD. Also, radio and screen angle presets are lost.
METHOD 2 AUDIO CD METHOD (Permanent) 1 Insert Audio CD 2 Press PLAY 3 Press STOP twice on remote 4 Enter 26604 on remote 5 Press ENTER 6 Take out Audio CD and Insert a DVD ---------------- METHOD 3 DVD METHOD (Permanent) ** Insert a DVD ** Let it play until you hear sound ** Press STOP twice on remote ** Enter 26604 ** Press ENTER
The blue warning screen should immediately go away after pressing the last digit of "26604." Still press ENTER as a precaution.
The 3rd method seems to work with most of the duals

hook up the ground with the pink and when you are in am/fm mode hit the dvd set
up button on the remote, input the no. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and 0 make sure
it beeps after every no. has been pressed. then it should bring up the
hidden menu select the hammer option and turn on the brake bypass
option. your done.
i took this from the uv8 brake bypass. it works on the uv9.
This will work without having to do anything to the pink wire - just
tape it and leave it alone. But the next time you unhook your battery
cable you will have to put the code in again.
Put in DVD When the blue screen comes up, hit STOP twice on the remote punch in 1,2,6, and 4 hit DOWN 1 time hit PLAY/ENTER (although you can't see it, this turns off the parking brake bypass security feature)
**at this point the display became visible and you will now see the menu which makes it much easier. hit DOWN one more time to change macrovision hit PLAY/ENTER hit SYS SETUP twice to save and exit menu
From now on, you can just put in a movie and it'll start - no more grounding or toggle switch procedure, and you don't have to use the e-brake.
You can try the procedure for the VM9311TS model (the one I have) - I don't know if it'll work but it's worth trying. Put in a DVD, and let it start playing. Then hit STOP on the remote twice, and enter the code 1264. If you were able to see the actual movie at this point, you'd see a menu pop up. Push down twice, then ENTER. At this point the blue screen should clear and you should see the movie itself. You'll have other options on that menu, like a macrovision option to allow you to see burned DVDs. Set what you like, then on the remote, hit SYS SETUP twice to lock in your choices.
