Electra split system WMN24RC not cooling.

Compressor and outside fan are working. When turned on, it blows warm air. The small tube is cold and the large tube is warm. The filters are all clean and nothing is blocking airflow.

SOURCE: Blowing hot air, compressor not kicking on, just fan ? ?

are you speaking of the outside fan or inside? compressor should be a little warm but not boiling hot. the unit could be low on freon. if low it will run a while but the compressor will overheat and shut off leaving the fan running by itself ouside. if nothing outside is running check power. if you have power check the contacted outside to make sure it's pulled in. contacters are bad about going out on goodman untis. Also ants can get under contacts.

SOURCE: have a reverse cycle split system LG aircon

Hi, dealing with these ductless split systems on a daily basis, I can say you have checked some of the things I would have wanted you to check, which is good on you're part.Blowing Room Temp. air in both heating and cooling indicate that the compressor is not running even though the outdoor condenser fan is on.There are several things that could cause this. You have a compressor run capacitor that starts the compressor, but I am thinking on you're unit, it has a dual capacitor that runs the compressor and fan together. Fan is on, so I will rule this out. These units are notorious for leaking freon as the Liquid line and suction lines are not brazed, they are put together with connectors that tend to leak over time. If it is low enough on Refrigerant gas, the compressor will shut off and stay off on low pressure. This unit has a low pressure switch that has normally closed contacts, that opens and stops the compressor from any damage which in turn, you will have no cooling or heating.Do this for me, turn the unit on in cooling, lower T-stat way down so outdoor unit comes on. Go to the out door unit and where the elect. wiring and lines go into unit you will see to copper lines. The largest of the 2 lines is the low or suction line.Wrap you're hand around it and it should be nice and cold. If it is warm, just touch the smaller line, it should be rather warmer, almost hot.If both lines are of normal temp. you are either out of freon or the compressor isn't running. You can remove panel to get to it and put your hand on it to see if it is on. If the lines were of normal temp. and the compressor is not on, more than likely you have lost the charge.Look it over, the wiring to see if you see anything burned or connections burned off and so on. You can check the 3 wires going into the compressor by turning off the power at breaker and removing the cap covering wires just to make sure these wires are intact. sometimes one will get hot from power and burn off. If you see this problem, it would be something you could fix.If all looks good, go back to the copper lines and being this is a Heat-Pump, you should have 3 fittings where we install our gauges to check and fill systems with freon. Look for one that is on the unit itself and remove the plastic cap.Don't be alarmed if you do as nothing will come out.If you look inside the valve, and you see a Schrader core, you can depress it with a nail or something small, just enough to see if it has a lot of pressure in it.If very little or none, the system is out of freon. You will have to call a tech out to find leak and evacuate and re-charge system.I wanted to give you many things to check so you and I would know what the problem is, a process of elimination. If you have a lot of pressure, then more then likely you have a faulty compressor. If you feel that you would rather not check the electrical or depress the Schrader, I fully understand. You can at least check the temp. of the lines and listen to see if the compressor is running, and if it is with warm lines it is still low on freon. Please keep me informed, and again the long explanation was for you to understand more about you're system operation. Sincerely, and best of luck,

SOURCE: I have a TCL 2.5hp split system air conditioner

I will star checking freon pressure but you going to call an HVAC company to do that. Please turn it off or you will damage the compressor, if is not already.

If my fan and compressor for my Frigidaire ffre 1233s1 are both running, but the air is not cold, what should I check?

There would be two fans, one outside and one inside, both must work. If the compressor works, does the compressor output small line get hot and the return cool or cold? On the outside radiator or condenser, inlet should be hot and outlet cool/warm to touch.

I have a split system air conditioner that quit blowing cold air

either the compressor is not running or you have a leak and are low on freon. the outside fan running does not tell you the compressor is running.

Ac unit isn't blowing

It sounds like your freezing up at the coil, which in turn, blocks airflow across coil and only a small amount of air comes out of the vents. This also explains the cold air coming from fan on the outside unit, since the system cannot absorb the heat from the inside of the house through the coil. Your air outside is usually blowing out warm to hot air because thats the heat it rejects out of your system. I would turn the thermostat to "OFF" and turn just the fan setting to "ON" instead of Auto, this thaws the system out faster. Give it time to fully thaw, make sure filters are clean, and check airflow. If airflow is back to normal, your problem is more than likely the charge of refrigerant. If you have to call a technician out, make sure the unit is not frozen at all before they get there, they would not be able to do anything with the system froze. Hope this helps and good luck!

PROBLEM WITH MY AIR CONDITIONER

Is the outside unit running? if so can you feel warmer than outside air blowing from outside fan? If not your system may have a leak and pressures low. You can also check the piping to and from the unit larger one should be cold small one should be warm

Our air conditioner seems to be working fine yet t won't blow cold air. Its just room temp air actually feels like you're standing in front of a small fan.

check outside unit large pipe should be cool or even very cold small pipe should be warm to touch that will eliminate some questions in order to solve problem also check circuit breaker for outdoor unit see if fan on outdooor unit is running and listen for compressor hum

Uotside unit blowing cool air but hot on the inside

It sounds like you have a unit called a heat pump. When a heat pump unit is in cooling mode the outside unit blows hot air and the inside unit blows cold air. If the outside unit is blowing cold then the indoor unit is most likely blowing room temperature or warm air. It sounds like the thermostat could be controlling incorrectly or you could have a failed reversing valve which is the device that switches the unit from heating to cooling mode.

On/off cooling

You will need to replace the outdoor fan and capacitor before it cause damage to the compressor. Thx RepairUSA
