Question about Pioneer AVIC-D3 Car DVD Player

1 Answer

Nav system map frozen in Manhattan. Car is in Florida!

My system map suddenly switched from where I was driving on A1A in Florida to a map of Manhattan, NY. The compass works, but the system shows no movement from Hudson Street, Manhattan, regardless of how far I drive here in Florida.( I was not on the jet that landed in the Hudson!) The radio and CD player still work.

Does it have the relevant maps for the area you're in? You may need to talk to your nearest Toyota dealer and see if the sat nav can be updated

Getting the map to track up instead of heading

Usually you can touch the red compass that points to north and it will change between heading up and north up. sounds like she has it set to north up.

Ebay has CD's fairly cheap and most new. Just browse sellers info and check on pioneers website to see what the latest version is. I plan on buying the newest one here in January.

Check gps attenna

Try to reset your radio by romving the power completly on it. Restart it with your map dvd inside and wait for the update. When its updated , go in the gps screen. and start your car, turn around your block 3-4 time and sometime it relocate alone. ill try to check in my user manual, there is a way to tell the gps your exact location on the map , click it and make it your current posotion. Why it does that? Cause maybe your map dvd is not up to date , and your area isn't updated in your map dvd.
