When did the problem start?
What internet browser are you trying to open?
What if any changes were recently made?
have you tried system restore?

SOURCE: acer laptop keeps rebooting

Well, viruses- what fun. My advice, download AVG Free 8.0. It is a free virus removal and protection program by Girosoft. This program will get rid of the virus. If the computer begins to shut its self down, then yes, reformatt. But afterwoods, install AVG and keep it gong. You should never have another virus again. And if you do, avg will get rid of it.
Thats just my say.

SOURCE: dell inspiron... turn on and screen will not

You could have a defective screen - a defective inverter or a CCFL lamp or simply the video cable needs reseating. After reseating the video cable and the problem is still there then :- To determine if you have a LCD screen or video card problem, read this and follow the instructions. Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power it up, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case. The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills. Check out www.lcdparts.net for parts, repair service and DIY info.

SOURCE: Acer 5570 stripes in the bios, blue screen, not booting...

Try removing one memory module then boot again and see if the same thing happens. If it does swap it out with the other one and reboot again. If this solves your problem one of your ram modules is bad and requires replacement.

SOURCE: My VAIO Laptop screen keeps freezing when i run windows normally

Restoring the computer back to factory settings would be the smartest thing to do. but its not a solution. i would recommend that try to reinstall the os and create a parition and save all your information on the other partition. Not on C but anywhere on D, E etc. or you can use an external hdd for this purpose which will back up your information automatically. so you wont think twice restoring it back to factory settings. if you are using windows vista. i suggest turn off automatic updates. because updates causes lot of issues than they resolve.
so as of now you may restore it back to factory settings and turn off the updates. this will certainely work out. SONY's laptop si a good laptop and it hardly cause any hardware problem. so its just vista.
The fool proof option is
Install XP and say good bye to all crashes. ;)
All the best.

Please rate this information a HIGH RAnk if this was a helpful information.

My laptop only connects to the internet in safe mode

Boot into safe mode with networking. Download malware-bytes Run a full malware scan, remove any malware and reboot into normal mode. This may have fixed the issue. Failing this download super anti spyware and do the same with that tool. If both these tools come back virus free / do not fix the issue click on start, run. Type 'msconfig' into the box, hit enter. Half the startup items and reboot into normal mode. If you can access the Internet the software causing the problem is in the half of the startup items not running. Keep halving this half until you find the suspect software and remove it. ( no matter how big the number of startup items it will always take the same amount if halfing to narrow it down to one.

When it turn on it turns on when I click internet it won't go to the home page it says it can't find the server or dns

This could be many things but most likely its a trojan that has took over. I would suggest that you boot up in safe mode with networking. To do this reboot computer and while it is trying to boot up press F8 several times it will bring you to a screen that ask if you want to boot normal or safe mode or safe mode with networking SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING IS THE ONE YOU WANT. try to get on the internet once it has booted up in safe mode if you can get on the internet go to www.filehippo.com and download malware bytes. Update the program and then run the quick scan. After you have finished that download ccleaner at the same web site and run the cleaner then run its registry cleaner. Then boot up normal.

Cant view internet everything freezes cant even close it down when it freezes

You will have to start in windows safe mode with networking install malwarebytes at filehippo.com
make sure you update it after installing then run scan after that you will reboot to normal screen and then you will run it again i suggest that you run the quick scan first on both the safe and normal modes if that does not fix you problem then you will have to run the the other scans and they can take a very long time about 90% of the time quick scan solves the problems.

I need help with ibm thinkpadr40 have no idea what is going on tried somethings, blue screen keeps coming up and freezes and runs slow

If you are getting different problems at different times, they you have to start handling things slowly to exactly pin point the issue. It will be great if you can also document the error messages, when you get it, the windows version you are using etc so we can provide you more accurate steps and identify the exact issue.

First if you are using windows XP restart the computer in safe mode and try using it (if you wanted to use internet - wired) then restart the computer in safe mode networking.

Procedure to restart computer in safe mode:
Restart computer, keep tapping F8 key on the keyboard, instead of going to windows it will show up a windows advanced boot menu, where you need to use your up or down arrow key to navigate the control to Safe mode / safe mode with networking and hit enter key. this will show some commands / text on your screen and take you to safe mode.

Try using your computer in safe mode and see if your computer is giving you any error or if it freezes. If it does not give you any trouble in this mode then you computer is good, it should be the additional programs running in the normal mode that is creating the issue. we need to diagnose further to find it.

If it is freezing / gives your error message in safe mode itself, then there should be a problem with the hardware of your computer, we have to find out by eliminating the hardware one by one.

Do not worry, we can work together pin point the issue and we will help you to resolve this issue.

Want to Do a Restore

Try starting your computer in safe mode and do a virus scan once in safe mode. While in safe mode Windows only loads the basic devices to run your computer and usually viruses are not loaded untill windows starts in regular mode. Don't panic once you are in safe mode and your screen looks all grainy, this is normal.
  1. Restart your computer and press F8 as soon as you turn it on.
  2. Click the "safe mode with networking" option
  3. Update your antivirus
  4. Do a full system scan
  5. Restart your computer and hope for the best.
If that doesn't work, than reinstall windows.
If you need further assistance, let me know.
