Could just be that your mic is bad, if you still have the store receipt/warranty
then take it back and get a new one.

I'm sorry but per Plantronics the Gamecom 367 headset is not compatible with the ps3. The Gamecom 777 will work with the ps3.

Here is a link for more information on the Gamecom 777.

I have recently bought an AKG Perception 120 microphone and plan on recording through GarageBand on my Macbook Pro, but no sound is coming through. please help!

You say you have a XLR to USB adapter....so the version of the 120 you have is the regular XLR version, right? Well if it is, it needs what's called "phantom power" to work. It looks like they have a straight USB version of this mic, and that's what you should have gotten if you didn't want to use anything else. If you still want to use this mic as is, I would recommend a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2. I have one and it's great. I do have a pc though and I'm not sure about Mac. But it's a usb powered preamp that gives you two mic pre's along with headphone amp, and a volume control for your speakers and has phantom power built in. Great unit and around $120. NFI.

Compatilble with macbook?

If you just plug the headset into your computer's USB port you should be good to go. With these headsets, there's no software to install, no configuration, etc. So it should be compatible with macbook

Can not get audio input

If you have a first generation Macbook Air, there is no line-in nor microphone jack on this model of Macbook Air. On the latest Macbook Air models, you can use the Apple earbuds that have a build-in mic in them for a mic; otherwise, you'll have to use some kinds of USB audio adapter.

In sound system preferences when the external mic is plugged in, there is a drop down menu in the input tab that says "Use the audio port for:" make sure it says input.

Digital Audio out in MACBOOK PRO.

Connect external speakers, headphones, or optical digital audio equipment. The headphone / line output jack accommodates optical digital audio output, analog audio output with a 24-bit, 44.1-192 kHz D/A converter, digital audio output up to 24-bit stereo and 44.1-192 kHz sampling rate and supporting encoded digital audio output (AC3 and DTS). For analog headphone / line output a standard audio cable with 3.5mm metal plug should be used. For digital audio, a standard Toslink cable with a Toslink mini-plug adapter can be used.
You can find the Digital to Analog converted:
