Think this write protection error is due to some virus.
Steps to remove write protection for Transcend users
1) Go to download center of the transcend, here is the link
Type the model no. or part of model number you are looking for.
example: JFV30(all alphabets in Caps )
2) Choose other details like product type etc. and search for your product
3)Then select the product which which is most similar to yours from search results
4)Then download the mFormat utility. You will asked for serial no. if you dont have..enter this no. 1456784523
5) Connect your pen drive
6) run the mformat utility and select full format after full format your write protection will be removed. try twice or thrice if you can't correct at first time.
It worked for me and my friends....
Other pen drive users may visit there vendors site and download any fromat utility present there for your model.

ok on the pen drive itself,, is a small switch with a lock on it at one end,, and an open lock on the other.. Its a small switch,, usually at the sides or back of it.. just push the switch in the other side to unlock it..
if there isnt one..
Regarding the write protect error, I believe its a common symptom for fake USBs. These are ones which say they have large capacity, but the seller placed a much smaller capacity chip. In your case, its possible that the pen drive's REAL capacity is only 256MB! Even the OS is fooled into thinking its a large capacity USB drive.
I saw some Sony branded USB's with a capacity of 32GB a few months ago. They are obviously fake.. but I do wonder how many people fell for them.
you can try formatting the drive ,, by

SOURCE: sir good after. I have
Go start menu then click run and type regedit then ok.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINES/SYSTEMS/current control set/control/storage device policies.
note:if storage device policies key does not exist then download add.bat file and double click it. After double click it is added automatically to registry.
Double click the write protect in the right pane and set the value to 0 in the value data box and press ok button.
restart your computer and again reconnect the pen drive on your computer.
