SOURCE: Dell Poweredge 2650 - How do I disable RAC

If this is a security concern then there is nothing to be concerned about so long as you do not plug a network cable into the RAC.

Otherwise, if it is an add-in card just remove it.

If you can't remove it there should be a way of accessing it when the server starts up. You should be able to go into the configuration and disable its functions.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: video card that supports Dell PowerEdge 1800

It says it has an embedded 7000m chip, there is no mention of a graphics slot for a discrete add in card.

Hi, my Dell PowerEdge 1850 Server freeze at boot screen after print remote access controller detected. anyone ve any solution on it ?

I had exactly the same issue, its basically your iDrac card thats likely at fault. I simply removed mine and the server would boot as expected. If you require the iDrac then order a new card and this should solve your issue.

My monitor is not displaying anything, not even the bios screen. My vga connectors and power cords are plugged in.

The only suggestion I would have is to pop the liod off and plug in a video card (I know its a 1u unit, but keep the lid off - this is just to test. If the vid card you popped in gives an output then onboard is shafted, with a 1u, not much can be done apart from new mainboard... or just remote desktop from another machine if it boots?

How or where in the BIOS do I switch video source to PCI? Old Dell PowerEdge 600SC. Attempting to install new video board.

Most servers (including the 600SC) were not designed for use with add-in video cards, thus, there is no jumpers or BIOS setting to disable the onboard video.

What type of nic to add

Cannot be PCIe, as they are not supported - PCI or PCI-X. Check the slots, you may only be able to use 3.3/5V cards.

And as a sidenote ... the PowerEdge 2600 does not support x64 Operating Systems and does not support hardware-assisted virtualization (VT on Intel processors), so you will be limited on which VM solutions you can use.
