Have you unplugged it and re-plugged it back in after a minute or so? You may need to re-configure, or reset your DNS addresses through the configuration menu. Your ISP should have given you the primary and secondary one of these. I don't know too much about DSL. I know that turning them on and then off again clears a lot of problems. Make sure there are no other wireless routers, range extender, repeaters, etc., in the proximity of your Belkin router. IP confusion has caused a lot of grief for these. Disconnect all corless devices (unplug them even) taking a source from a single jack. I don't know if this helps or not. Good luck.

Their should be a reset button on the back of your router/modem. You need to get a stick pin and reset it. Then turn it off from the power and allow it to reconnect. If this does not work I would call your ISP provider and get their help. They should be able to tell if it is working properly or not. Hope this helps. Please rate my answer.

So if you connect the computer directly to the modem , it works .
That means your modem is working properly. Your ISP is DSL connection. Now connect the modem to the router and the computer to the router. Open the router xet up page and change the settings of the router according to the type of connection you have.
There are 2 types of connection in DSL.
DHCP and PPPOE .

Belkin F5D8236-4 Wireless Router will not connect to pannaway dsl modem with same settings as router I am replacing. Dynamic IP address setup. Modem light continously blinks orange. No internet light.

1) With direct connect with modem, check the IP address and default gateway.
(I came across such a modem, it gave default gateway as 192.168.1.254)
I also had the doubt of configuring as a dynamic connection
But it won't work!
Contact your ISP to completely bridge the modem and configure the dsl modem as PPPoE connection with correct username and password.
Finally connect the modem to router and do a complete network power cycle, i.e.: Unplug power from router 1st, then power from modem, unplug the telephone line and now do the exact reverse process... Plug back the tel. cable, then power to modem... now WAIT for lights on modem to come back, then plug in the power to router. This will surely work.

Trying to set up wireless router to satellite phone/internet

i've never worked with a 7740, but i've installed hundreds of hn7000's and hn9000's. the issue is usually that the router and modem are defaulting to the same ip address. if your router supports has a web-based config utility (as most do) try cat-5'ing to the router with your computer while the router is NOT connected to the modem. log into the router and set it's ip address to something OTHER THAN 192.168.0.1 (i use 192.168.1.1 for my customers) reboot the router and reconnect it to the modem. the ip conflict should now be resolved.

Can't get a wireless router to work with a speedstream 4200

This may actually be an issue with your ISP. There is a good possiblity that your ISP has bound your connection to the MAC address of the network card on your computer. This is a common occurance which is why router manufacturers give you the option of having your router clone your computer's MAC address. Go into your router's management an perform the clone, sorry I cannot give you more details but I don't know the specific model of your Belkin router.

Belkin router

I just worked on one of these today. Try this and see if it helps.

1. Unplug your cable or DSL modem and your wireless router

2. Plug back in the cable or DSL modem and wait for the internet to successfully connect (watch the lights).

3. Plug the wireless router back in again and wait for it to connect (again, watching the lights)

If this doesn't work, make sure you have the equipment plugged-in in the right order.

cable or dsl signal goes to modem ==> modem plugs into wireless router ===> computer plugs into wireless router.
