Question about Kenmore 16.7 cu. ft. Freezerless Refrigerator

Refrigerator not working properly

My refrigerator temperature is not consistent throughout. The top shelf is not very cold at all and the bottom two shelves freeze things solid? In fact, the back of the refrigerator (inside) is a huge chunk of ice? Any ideas on how to fix this?

Same problem here. The top shelf is about 45 degrees but the bottom shelf is about 30 degrees! There is frost on the back wall of the bottom two shelves. My product is a Kenmore Refrigerator that is all refrigerator (NO FREEZER). Model # 253.60722004 I bought this on 6/30/08. It is still under warranty so any help would be appreciated. I do keep it full but make sure to leave room for the air to circulate. I also checked to make sure the light isn't staying on when the door is closed--so that isn't why the top shelf is warmer. :) Anyway, please help. Thanks! ALM

The first thing to check is the overall internal refrigerator temperature. The proper temperature should be between 35 and 42 degrees. Here are some things to try:
If your refrigerator temperature is closer to 35 degrees, try turning the temperature up slightly. If you find that the temperature varies a lot from the top shelf to the bottom (where it is coldest), try putting produce and other sensitive products on a higher shelf. If the temperature is too low and you can't make it warmer by adjusting the thermostat, you probably have a defective thermostat. If so, you need to replace it, because they cannot be repaired. Other possible problems are a leak in the sealed (refrigerant) system, cold air migration (in side-by-side models) or a defective air damper. These problems can be quite difficult to locate and correct, we recommend you contact a qualified appliance repair technician.

    Jenn air french door refrigerator

Can you place the unit into Turbo Cool? once it reaches 34 degrees it will reset to 40.

This can happen if you've recently added a lot of food lately, such as for a party. The energy saving nature of the unit cannot cope with the influx of a lot of food food from the grocery store all at once.

If that doesn't do it, stick around and someone will be along to help you.

    Kind regards,
