SOURCE: Blower fan will not come on when set on Auto in heat mode.

the fan is controlled by a fan center or a stack switch. as burners light and heat up the spring sensor on the bulkhead above burners heats up and turns and a a point energizes the indoor fan if it gets to hot the burners go out on safty. sounds like a fan control is bad tap on them gently and they sometimes break loose but if not then have a pro replace fan control and test heat exchanger.

SOURCE: I have a 24yr old trane hp the outdoor unit has

If this old unit has a outside transformer then you will need to shut off the breaker and take the wires off the compressor and tape them up. Then turn the breaker back on and it should run.

SOURCE: With the thermostat selected to a/c and the fan in

Sounds like there may be a separate thermostat to run the fan when the temp in attic reaches a certain point, this can be disabled

My blower motor wont turn off in my furnance?

check the fan setting on your thermostat. On means always on, auto/int means only comes on during heating/cooling. if the thermostat is set to auto / int and the fan keeps running? you may have a bad fan relay switch. It may be integral on the primary control board of your unit.

Fan wont run on auto

Make sure your tstat is programmed for electric, not gas. Or in the settings you want that the TSTAT CONTROLS THE FAN.

Have a Janitrol central air system and the unit outside comes on but the fan in attic does not always come on. If I go to the thermostat and manually turn it from auto to on it comes on. Any ideas about...

If the blower is working with the thermostat in the ON position that tells you that the fan motor works. In the AUTO setting... the system in controlled by the contacts in the thermostat. 1. The thermostat contacts might not be closing. 2. A contactor( or relay ) in the air handler unit(inside unit) might not be closing to send the signal to the fan motor. It sounds like a thermostat or relay problem to me. You can email me at Starztruck4u@aol.com if you have more questions.

We have a Tappah (Model 36c53 type 200) furnace,

If it is an older model unit, there is a switch called a "Fan/Limit" switch. It functions like this: When the burners come on, it heats the switch and fan comes on. If fan fails for any reason, switch continues to heat and then turns everything off as it exceeded a safe limit of temperature.
These are pretty generic and can be purchased from any HVAC shop but most to not sell to the public. You may try W.W. Grainger. They might have one.

Hope this helps

Coleman rv rooftop unit, fan runs in on but in auto nothing works

R = HOT 12V
W= WHT- GND
Y = YELLOW / POSSIBLE THERMOSTAT
G= GRND FOR THERMOSTAT
f = FAN
F=FAN
aSSUMING THIS IS A TWLVE VOLT SYTEM- The two f's Would be fan control intake and exhaust - fan direction
White is always ground and so is green.. green is more of a static ground where white is a load grnd.
Red is always hot. in low voltage

I hope this helped. No instructions in kit?

My ducted heating continually blows cold air thru

Well, if need be, turn the breaker off. Turn it on when you need heat. Sounds like the fan relay is sticking or something if that sort. Is the tstat fan selector on auto?

My apartment honeywell a/c is on full crank at 90 degrees on "heat". It doesn't feel warm at all, though it's been on for hours. I have a new filter in, as well. Also, "fan" and "auto" are other controls...

The "Fan on/auto" switch is desighned to give you the option of running the fan constantly, which continuosly filters the air in gives circulation.

It does not effect the heat or cool modes of the unit. All it does is effect the fan.

On the "Auto" setting, the fan will only come on when the unit is calling for heat, or cooling.

This will save a little bit of electricity, but will not continuosly circulate or filter the air.

What was the temperature inside tha apartment when you first set the T-stat on 90?
What is it now? if it is still climbing and it started out very low, it may just be working fine.

If not, you could have other problems, like low refridgerant (if it's a heat pump) or bad insulation on a very cold night or an undersized unit.

Has it been working properly before or have you just moved in/turned it on?
