SOURCE: intercom for model #5882

I believe this is the manual for your model phone. It is in PDF. If you don't have a pdf reader go to www.adobe.com and download the reader.

Follow these steps to register new handset.

1. On your Handset: Press Menu -> [0] [0] (menu then zero zero)

Changing the greeting on the company's main phone

To re-record greetings, enter Feature 983. if your system has 2 digit intercom #s your default password is 120000 if your system has 3 digit intercom #s your default password is 1020000. once you have entered the password you will see 3 selections you can make .use the three soft keys under the display and select AA (auto Attendant). next press greeting and greeting again. next it'll ask for the greeting number your probably working with greeting 1. press record to start and ok when finished. dont forget to save the greeting or it will be deleted if you exit early. hang up when finished

I have a toshiba DKT3512S and need to reset the time, also i would like to know how to do speed dials. Thanks mara

You will have to get into program mode for this. you will have to press this sequence of buttons. Hold*#*#1*2*3*. Password is default to 0000. Program number is 902 then press hold. Press Intercom button for Date and line 1 button for time. If you press Intercom #66 enter speed dial number 10-99 is station speed dial. If you press Intercom #66 and enter speed dial numbers 100-999 will be system speed dial. Hope this helps. I included a site below with program manuals.

Intercom problem

make sure your wiring that connects lines from dmarc into the unit is consistant. Line1 must be line1 on all phones, line2 must be line2 etc.
After line appearance verified follow instructions in the manual and everything should work. If it doesnt contact manufacturer for assistance

I want to be able to just pick up the handset and have it

Depending on the software level, there is a possible chance for this to work...

first question though... can you dial a 9 to get a line out?
If this is possible, that means that we can change the PRIME LINE for a line pool access rather than intercom.

-> Get into system programming
-> get into TERMINALS&SETS and type in your extension
-> enter LINE ACCESS and hit next till you find PRIME LINE it should say I/C (this is intercom)
-> press change till you see PoolA
-> hit next and RLS to end programming.

Now everytime that you pick up your handset, it will pick the first available line out!

I have a NEC ETW 16DC-2 phone that does not ring with calls

The telephone instrument you have can be used on the NEC Electra Professional Level I, and the Level II systems (and under some conditions the NEAX 2000 series). Codes for features are somewhat different based on the system. It is possible that your phone is in "Do-Not-Disturb" if other phones on your system actually ring when they are called via the intercom (on the Level I and Level II systems, initial intercom ring is a system wide setting). The cancel DND code is: Level I system: with telephone idle, press <FNC>, dial 60, press <FNC>. Level II system: with telephone idle, press <FNC>, dial 69, press <FNC>.
It is also possible that your ring volume is very low. To adjust, press <SPKR>, dial 601, then adjust volume using the up/down keys at the bottom of the phone (press <SPKR> when finished. If your system is programmed to access an outside line when you press <SPKR>, you will need to press the <INTERCOM> button first.)
If your system is set for voice intercom, people calling your phone can make it ring by dialing a "1" after your intercom number.
If you do all this and your phone still won't ring on incoming calls, let me know and we'll have to go into system programming to correct it.
