what exactly is the problem? no charging port, no charging contacts? no removable battery? if the answer is no to all these it might be new induction charged unit which you will need a special charging pad for. if i am way off base please add a comment to clarify what you have/need

That is one of the few things covered in the otherwise useless manual. Look on page 7 under section c. While a selection is playing, press Vol. The volume icon at the top of the screen changes from black to red. Adjust volume with the right or left arrow keys

SOURCE: How do you turn down
hold volume button down util the icon turns red then adjust volume with right arrow for up and left for down. when icon goes back to black it should have adjusted to the volume. Also the volume is listed numericly the higher the number the louder it gets.
