How much is a capacitor

The Capacitor itself is 20 dollars. There are different Capacitors for the different Calibers (models) of watch. If you want to install the Capacitor itself I recommend swatchbattery.com. They have a long and clear list of which Capacitor for which Caliber. And they have 2 brief tutorials on how to install the Capacitor. I do NOT recommend it if you are not very very comfortable working deep inside a watch. This is far different than simply replacing a battery in a Casio or Citizen, where the battery is "on the surface" and extremely easy to reach. This involves some special tools and special skills.

I have an echo drive watch that worrks for 6 years and stop working.one of the watch selers told me to pull out the main pin and leave the wach under the desktop light for 12 hour, but it dosent work.thanks...

I don't know which calibre number you have but if you go to http://www.citizenwatch.com/COA/English/rechargeguideresults.asp?caliber=e810 you will see the recharge times for an E810 (which are probably very similar) and this model needs 43 hours to recharge under a lamp.

This would account for your lack of success.

(If you follw the link and go back a step, you should be able to enter you calibre number and see the instructions for your watch.)

If you still have no success, it could be that the battery needs replacement. A discussion with the makers' service center should help on this.

Citizen Eco Drive WR100 has been in a closed jewelry case for over a year. How should I proceed in "recharging" the watch?

Eco Drives don't have batteries they have capacitors. The watch needs to be placed in natural light, sunlight is best, for a day or so. Here are the instructions from Citizen. It also gives information on resetting so it will work after recharging.

E010 S95986 HSB power cell does not hold charge

Change the capacitor. This is the thing accumulating the energy. As the ordinary batteries, it may go bust, so, all you have to do is to replace it. There is no such a name as power cell in Citizen EcoDrive watches - there are CAPACITOR. Capacitor absorbs the energy from the light sensitive panel(s) and dispenses it in the ordinary battery manner. Advertisements are saying that you will never have to change the battery - that's right, because there are no batteries at all. Instead of battery there are CAPACITOR, but nobody says it will last forever. Rate me, plz.

Second hand seconds out

This definetely is NOT a fault as all modern watches are fully adjustable unless damaged.
All resetting functions should be in your watch manual. Just follow step by step and the problem should be solved.
In case you've lowst your manual:
Go to www.citizenwatch.com find technical support and your exact watch or by caliber number.

Good luck

My citizen skyhawk watch which is under one year old has stopped working, there is nothing on the lcd screens.

This watch is a "echo-drive" I presume. Do you wear the watch every day? If not , is it put away in the dark? If it is , this watch needs sunlight for it to stay charged. Try putting it on a window sill for 24 hours and see what happens. If this dosn't help, then you need the capacitor changed. You said you have had this watch for about a year, Citizen has a 5 year warrenty, so if it still dosn't work get ahold of them and they should be able to help you. If you don't want to wait to have it fixed you can go to any REPUTABLE watch repair shop (NOT a jeweler) and they shoul be able to help you. The price will probibly be between 45-65 dollars. If you need more help PLEASE let me know, and I will be glad to assist you further.
