Hoover se147 washing machine, wont spin at all , it will fill and drain. Have checked pressure switch and appears okay. Have also had circuit board out and that seems okay.

Have you checked the carbon brushes within the motor, chances are they are worn. you will need to remove your motor to get to the 2 carbon brushes.these will be in a plastic casing, held in place by 2 screws. There is just 1 wire going to each brush. When brush is removed, the carbon should be at least 20mm long. If not replace with new

MACHINE STOPPED - BURNING SMELL COMING FROM WASHER

The burning smell is from your coupling and when this breaks the rubber spins across the plastic face of the opposite coupling. Your washer will not wash or spin until this is replaced. fortunately these are cheap and easy to replace. Refer to my step by step instructions to replace yours.

Washer wont spin, smells like burning glws1649

Burning smell could be the windings in the motor. Better not to use it and have it looked at. If the smell is a rubber smell then the belt is jammed while the motor spins. still needs intervention as it can catch on fire and you will have a bigger problem than the one you have now

Washing machine wont fast spin

Because I don't have your model number or brand I will let you know that this could be a series of things that could cause the problem. If your washer has a lock for the door and at the time of spin you smell plastic melting in the air then I believe this could be the problem. If your washer has an electrical smell of burning od the motor then the motor could have a bad run capacitor or defective windings. What ever the case you need to stop using the washer until the problem is resolved. Please tell me more about the problems and get me the model and make, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Washing machine spins slowly and smells of burning rubber

The belt could be worn and will be slipping on the pullys, as it spins up the rubber , rubs against the pullys and that is what creats the burning rubber smell, the belt needs replacing.

WHDSR209D Washer

if you have a rubber smell that means that the belt is burning through. Several problems can be the case.
1 bearing of the drum ( check if it turns freely if so the bearing is ok)\
2 the belt is worn and need to be replaced.
3 carbon brushes in motor are worn
4 bearing in motor is gone

open the backside of the machine and check belt.
think that is your problem
