Question about Heating & Cooling
Our hisense air conditioner will turn on but only the fan works, it will not blow out cool air. Is there a part which needs replacing?

SOURCE: Delonghi Pinguin Air Conditioner
I sat on hold with Delonghi for about 25 minutes before I talked to someone this morning. Expect a long wait before you get helped.
For this specific problem (unit works, just doesn't blow cold air), the unit MUST be sent to an authorized repair facility. No repair facilities in Texas. The closest one to Texas is:
All-Brands Appliance 5008 W. Linebaugh Ave. Suite #8 Tampa, Florida 33624 813-908-2002
Delonghi said they will cover mine under full warranty up to 13-months. No RMA needed, just a photo copy of the purchase receipt for the unit. Outbound shipping is something not covered by Delonghi, but they will pay for parts, labor, and return shipping.
All-Brands said they don't have any specific requirements for packing, other than making sure the casters on the bottom of the unit are well-protected. It is common for them to break during shipping. They recommended, though, that if you have someplace nearby that does professional packing, like a UPS Store, to take it there. It's not a requirement, just a recommendation.
Along with the unit send a copy (not the original) of your purchase receipt, your name and telephone number, and the address to where the unit will be returned. Also, include a detailed description of the problem with your unit.
I REALLY hope this information helps someone!

if you used it alot, i would check it for freon.
checkthe air filter, make sure it's not dirty.
check the front panel, make sure there's no "ice/frost" in the unit.

Have you checked the freon level in this unit? If you are low or there is a leak it could be the problem. Hope this helps.

3 things it could be:
#1 problem with AC units - dirty coils, this leads to many other problems and is caused by neglecting to change filters monthly. You can buy coil cleaner commercially, but it is not the coils you see that get dirty. There is another set inside that is usually not visible. If you look outside and your unit is "iced up" there is a 98% chance that is your problem. Sometimes it could be iced and you can't see it from the outside. Solution, turn AC off and blow fan to thaw. When thawed, clean coils with coil cleaner and coil comb.
Relay switches, you already pushed it so you may have a bad switch.
These are the two most common problems. A mechanic will be quickl to say it is your compressor for $. There are normally only half a dozen things that go wrong if your AC is 10yrs or less. If it is over that, it could possibly have a more serious problem. (Secret hint - I have known AC's to last 30+ years if the filters are changed regularly. Letting dust and dirt build up on coils invites a host of other problems due to the stress it puts on the other components.
