Question about Compaq Presario Notebook
I have a Compaq laptop. I have had it for about 6 months, but due to windows vista not being compatible with my internet installation CD, I cannot get the internet on it. This isn't my issue though, it's just necessary to explain why my problem can't be solved by downloading software. I basically use the laptop as a word processesor and portable DVD player. I changed the region code on my Compaq DVD play program with a movie a few nights ago without really knowing what I was doing. Now all the DVDs I watch play in slow motion and without sound. I assume this has something to do with the change I made with the other DVD, because it is the only one that still plays. I cannot for the life of me find the menu or help option to allow me to change it back. I'm hoping there's a solution that doesn't require me getting the internet on the laptop, because I'm more likely to just not use it at all than to do that. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Well there is if you still remember the original REGION CODE of your DVD Rom. Simply got to My Computer > Right Click choose Properties > Hardware Tab > Device Manager > Click on the DVD/CD Rom Drives. This will now expand downwards you will see your DVD devices listed here. Right click on the DVD device and choose properties again. Then click on the DVD Region Tab, here you will see a list of countries every country has their own region code. Choose your original region code then click Apply and ok.
