Question about Nextel i265
Here is the link to the user manual; http://www.nextel.com/assets/pdfs/en/support/guides/phones/i265/ug.pdf Check page 119 of the manual (129 of the pdf)says: "Sometimes you may want to have your phone on,but turn off its ability to make and receive calls, such as when you are on an airplane. To set your phone so that it cannot make or receive phone calls, Direct Connect calls, Group Connect calls, Talkgroup Calls; or transfer data: 1 From the main menu, select Settings > Advanced > Airplane Mode. 2 Set this option to On. This icon U appears. Note: Pressing p for more than 5 seconds also turns on Airplane mode. To restore your phone?s ability to do all these things: Set this option to Off." Hope this helps :)

in that case I think you should try updating the firmware first;
http://idenphones.motorola.com/iden/supp...
If that doesn't help, then contact a Nextel service centre on;
http://www.sprintstorelocator.com/sprint...
There don't seem to be any quick fixes out there.
Is the phone still under warranty?
Just had a thought - the hotkey for airplane mode sorry it pasted as "p" before - should say the one with a circle with a vertical line in it.
could that key be stuck in? possibly intermittently. that could possibly cause the symptoms you have.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

My phone is going into this mode on it's own. I just want to get rid of this feature, it's redundant and not needed. If I get on a plane, I'll just shut my phone off.
