Lately when i run any movies in video lan 9.6 v..and use shift+right key few times, and after it if i go to my computer where i have kept icons to be seen in thumbnail view i see that the names of the folders, documents and drives inside the my computer below respected icons are missing....i use avg 8 internet security and another small virus remover called smart virus remover.i used to go to the smart virus remover and change the settings and restart couple of times the view came to normal but suddenly it has not working now what seems to be it a virus do i need another antivirus + internet security....the other thing is this no name display thing happens only in thumbnail view not in others...and also the hdd drives and other things open in a new window like when we give explore option instead of opening in the same i said the smart virus remover makes it work properly...
and also while using any fireforx browser suddenly in middle the error report pops out and asks to close the mozilla....what is happening to my system.

Auto restart

Your machine is rebooting itself while you watch a movie on it? Could be a couple of things. First, is this a laptop or desktop? When is the last time you updated your video drivers? If this is a laptop, does it get very hot just before rebooting?

Theories work like so:
1. older video drivers can be causing a cpu panic condition due to a bug. This is more common with PC games vs. watching movies, but still possible. Updating your video drivers may help fix the problem if that's the cause.
2. heat: if the computer overheats, it will reboot to protect itself. As for why it's getting hot--could be that your video hardware or cpu is getting too hot playing the movie. Could be that your cooling fans are bad. This is why I asked about the machine getting hot.

Another possibility is the need to update either your BIOS or hardware drivers.

Please post more info if you require additional help.

While my pc is on and i am watching movie, about 15mnts of the movie, the pc stop and restarts, why?

While the processor is running, memory buffers take care of the other precesses the computer is also running while you are watching the movie. If the memory buffer is big enough, you could get to finish your movie and the computer will not stop. If the buffer is limited, when it is at 100%, the processor will no longer run and will do a restart. When you are about 10 into your movie try to see how the processor/memory are doing. It will let you know if they are saturated. Control+Alt+Delete will get you to the option where you can Start the Task Manager. This will allow you to see the processes running and the memory usage. I see in your post your memory is only 256 MB. Computers nowdays might have 4GB of Memory to run heavy graphics. That is about 16 times what you have. You might want to increase your memory.

After the attack of windows recovery virus, network adapter is not working. LAN icon in lower rightmost of desktop is not visible

Please reinstall your motherboards drivers from your driver installation disk. During healing or cleaning of the infected files, some of the files that your computer needs to have a lan has been lost or worst destroyed. So then reinstall your motherboard drivers or use system restore and restore your computer to an earlier time when you think it is working properly. Hope this would give you an idea.. Have a nice day friend ! :)

Hp vectra vl400 video problems

My guess is that amount of memory and that 1ghz psu you have, i asume that you running XP, gives you the best you get.
When you instaled that card, the card tok all of the resurses there where left, XP itself need at least 230-240mb of memory to run.
But i dont agree whit you about its hard to get PC133 memorysticks. Its easy and they are cheap.

Good luck!

Windows Restart Problem

If the crashes are becoming more often it is probably a processor overheating problem or it's on its way out. Leave the side of the computer off when its got going and see if it lasts any longer before crashing. To give you more of a clue as to what is crashing the pc go to My computer>properties>advanced tab>Startup & Recovery Settings>automatically restart; and untick the box. This will bring up a blue screen next time it crashes to give you a clue to the problem. PLease rate solution.
