SOURCE: Oil type for air compressor

You can go to any Home Depot and buy compressor oil for your compressor. Your operators manual should tell you what the level should be, however if you don't have one, filling it with oil until it fills the glass tube about half way should be sufficient.

SOURCE: air compressor runs but i

Yes it has no oil. and you need to remove the top cover and check for air leak between the pump an the tank. if you have a large leak the tank will not fill. Two screws and the cover should snap off. check copper line for blown seals.

SOURCE: I have an eagle iron

That depends on which model compressor you have. However, you can easily check this online, if you know the model number. The website linked here will allow you to choose your model, then download an instruction manual, and look up the engine lubrication specifications.
It's usually about a liter for a 4 gallon tank compressor.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

When I drain the tank to my air compressor it seems to have oil mixed in with the condensation .what causes this, how come.

its because this compressor does not provide oil free air hence it should not be used to provide breathing air , but is perfectly fine for use with air powered tools , oil comes from crank case and piston blowby , ck your crankcase oil level every week add oil (30wt nondet) as nessacary to keep oil level up , compressor head needs rebuilt when you exceed 2 quarts a week usage

Wat kind and how much oil does my campbell hausfeld 8 gallon air compressor take?

Hi Jeff...
It takes a special air compressor oil for your compressor.
Go to the nearest Walmart, Loews, or Home Depot and purchase the oil for your air compressor.
To find the oil level look on the stick that measures the oil and it will give you a fill level.

Replace oil sending unit on gas air compressor

If it was running it probably is still the oil level switch not reading the oil level in the sump. Recheck the unit.

Mac 5200--what type of oil and how much oil does it take?

Use air compressor oil only, motor oils like 10W-30 will leave carbon deposits on components and reduce their performance and compressor life. No manual lists an exact amount of oil to put in, they just say fill until the oil is half way up the sight glass. It's usually +/- one cup depending on the model, some take as much as one pint. Go by the sight glass for the best performance and to protect your compressor.

I have an Hitachi EC-12 compressor and I need to know how to verify that the oil level is correct. There is a green plastic dip stick but there are no markings on it that I can see indicating where...

Pull the dipstick and notice the notch cut into both sides at bottom (push dipstick all the way in to check oil level). Fill to top of notch. Lowest safe oil level is bottom of notch. This unit does not hold much oil. Always use the compressor on level ground (tilted compressor could cause a lack of lubrication). Good luck

How much oil does the 2475 hold

A 2475 has no way to tell how much oil is in it other than removing the oil fill plug and looking unless a low oil level switch has been installed. You should fill this unit to the bottom of the oil fill plug threads. It's less than 2 quarts. IR does have a spec sheet that tells the exact amount. I don't have it available right now!

I have craftsmen 7gal 1 hp-looks like very low oil level and no motor starts-just momentarily noise and stops?

1.If it has a low oil level, have it refilled to proper level,
and restart.
2.If it does not start. Isolate the motor from the
compressor, by removing the v-belt.
3. In this manner, we will know where's the trouble.
4. Put power to the motor, and have it started.
5. If the motor start, then it is okey. If the motor
just groan and does not start, check the starting
capacitor, it may need replacement.
6. Check the compressor if it can be turned (one to
two full turns). If it can turned, then, it is okey.
Otherwise, check the compressor piston rings.
It may need to be replaced.
7. Reassemble your compressor and replace the
v-belts.
8. Then, you can plug in to the nearest power outlet
and start the compressor.

Makita MAC 5200 3 HP 5.2 Gallon electric compressor

Use non detergent air compressor oil. It can be found at Lowes, Homedepot, and even Walmart. It is sold in small containers for about $2-3 dollars. A synthetic blend air compressor oil is needed when the unit is used in severe conditions. Synthetic air compressor oil sold at Lowes $6.95 and other stores will take more heat. Second choice is 30w non-detergent motor oil. Engine oils tend to produce carbon on the reed valves in the head if used extensively. I have been using the Lowes Kobalt brand of air compressor oil for some years in my Makita and Rol Air compressors with good results. The part number for Makita brand of oil is 18112-A quart size. It is only available by special order where I live. Good Luck!
