Question about Whirlpool Washing Machines
Machine stopped after rinse cycle but before spin cycle. Would not complete the cycle. Tried to reset on another cycle but only got a few seconds of humming then nothing. Any ideas
When our was doing that, we found after the cycle stopped if you give the lid a little push down, it would start up again, the inside clip just wasn't connecting all the way :)

open the bottom panel,3 screws on bottom
check the drain plug ,
remove the plug , mop up water ,
look inside for clogs ,
look above the ball,
look inside the propellers, spin the pumps propeller by hand.
feel around the inside of the front rubber gasket for items.

make shure the cold water is on and also if it worked before then it cold be two parts 1 the timer is bad or 2 the water inlet valve

SOURCE: Washer won't spin
Check the washer motor. Make sure that the motor is getting correct voltage and is working and spinning when you turn it on. It sounds like the motor is bad. You can remove the back cover to get to the motor to check it out

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
