This will give you a good idea of what you are looking at and where it is located as-well-as the expected costs of parts. Keep in mind though eBay is now a great place to get parts. Often for way cheaper than a parts outlet will charge.
It's kind of unusual for a machine to just lose agitation, unless it has a clutch or maybe agitating dogs; however, this unit has neither that i see and i must confess i've never worked on one. It's possible #2 on the transmission diagram is worn. Does the agitator spin? It may turn a little, but should not spin around like there is nothing holding it. If it does it is either the agitator or the part it connects to (# 2) or an associated part. Removing agitators can sometimes be a pain. Warming an agitator up with a hair dryer can make all the difference in the world when something seems stuck.
Good Luck.

My Kenmore compact washer with dryer on top, will not go from the first wash-rinse-drain-spin cycle to the second rinse-drain-spin-off cycle.

Check and make sure the door is pushed all the way down until you hear a click. If it starts with the next cycle, then your door switch may be bad. It's a pretty easy fix, but I would watch a video at least before doing it yourself.

A ge top load washer first began by making a buzzing noise instead of spinning. Now it doesn't spin as fast as before or just wont spin. Jeans wrapped around the agitator shouldn't damage the spin?

the agitator spins with the tub so clothes wrapped around the agitator will have no effect on the spin other than a balance problem
The hum and failure to start spinning may be attributed to a failed (failing ) start run capacitor or program board not moving on properly
As the start /run capacitor is for the motor and if it start the wash cycle ok but after that cycle ( around 30-40 minutes) it may be too hot to restart the motor for the spin
I suggest that a technician be called in to get a proper diagnosis and a quote

Washer wont agitate, it starts it fills it tumbles then it stalls. no codes, no power issuse, it stops counting down and does nothing.

Hey Stan, thank you for your post!

From what you have described your Frigidaire washer will not agitate and it will stop operating. I would recommend checking to make sure the drain hoses to assure they are not too long or restricted. Since it will spin and drain on a separate cycle it could be a possible issue with the motor, control panel, or wiring harness. I would recommend performing a reset on your washer and you can do that by disconnecting power from it for at least ten minutes. If the reset does not help with your current issue I would suggest seeking professional assistance to provide you with an accurate diagnosis. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases that may cause an inconvenience to you. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

I have a stackable washer and dryer from Frigidaire model# FEX831CSO. The washer will not agitate or spin but will drain. What might be the problem?

Good Afternoon Sarah, thanks for your post!

From the information you have provided the washer on your Frigidaire laundry center will not agitate or spin and will drain. This sounds like a possible issue with your motor or belt. In order to pinpoint the issue with your washer you may need to disassemble the washer and test each component for electrical issues and cosmetic damage. This is not a simple DIY job and I would recommend you speak with a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. Hopefully this information is helpful. -Matt

Washer agitates, drains OK, but spin doesn't start

Timer is defective. Your unit has a netural drain. When finished agitating, the shuts down and then starts up reversing to drain and spin. On the initial reverse start, the water drains without the transmission spinning. After a timed period 3-4 minutes, the timer is supposed to pause, stopping the motor for a few seconds. When the motor stops again, the transmission shift to the spin cycle and when the timer resumes power tothe motor it should spin. You are doing the same thing when you lift the lid...stopping the timer and then the tranny shifts and when you set the lid down, the washer spins. Replace the timer.......

Maytag Performa washer Waterlevel/agitator problem

CHECK your stand pipe hasn't fell over (the one the drain hose goes to when emptying)If not,Either the pressure switch is broke or there is a hole or split in the pressure switch rubber hose. This switch stops the water when it reaches required level.
