Question about Panasonic PT-50LC14 50" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Tv shuts off after a few minutes

Panasonic PT-50LC14 Television shuts off after a few minutes and lamp indicator lite blinks 1 time in 5 seconds but fan continues to run until i unplug the set. it has a new pure bulb about 2 months ago and i took the unit apart to clean all filters and blow everything clean, but still does the same thing. bulb looks ok, but have read alot about cheap aftermarket bulb problems. also, the cable input and the composite input don't function correctly as they have a very bad picture, but the component and dvi inputs work perfectly. any ideas as to the problems? thanks

I just replaced the lamp on my Panasonic PT-50LC14. Now when I turn the power on it blinks green for about 1 minute, then it blinks red. The screen never shows a picture. Not sure what to do, but I am

Have you done the lamp time reset procedure; before and after replacing the lamp? I thinks, you haven't. These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Panasonic TV shuts off after a couple minutes

Good day!!!!

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter
