Question about Bang and Olufsen Beosound 4000 Shelf System

B&O 5500 blown fuse (?)

Hi - i think I have a blown fuse on a B&O Beomaster 5500. I saw a spark - only one speaker  now works at a time- if i switch the connectors around either the right or the left will work but not at the same time - so it has nothing to do with whether it's the right or left speaker - only one will work.

If it is a fuse, is this something i can fix - or is it a service job.
thanks for the help, eric

Teac AG-V7700 keeps bowing fuses

I hate to say it but it sounds like one of the audio chips that drives the speakers shorted out! The high powered outputs (more than 7 watts) need both speaker wires to be ungrounded. You will need to find someone to replace the defective chip or else get a new unit.

Of course it can be repaired, but not by us and maybe not economically. Take it to a tech.

Try disconnecting the speakers and a new fuse. Maybe it's just a speaker shorted. Low probability.

It turns on,everything works normal and sound even comes out of the headphone jack.but there is no signal coming out of the speaker jacks.no sound or test tone

Hi depending on the design some receivers , when you plug in headphones, speaker sound is disconnected by the headphone socket so it could be faulty, or there may be a separate switch to switch of the speakers, (while using headphones) if so that switch could be suspect. I dont think the amplifier part of the receiver is at fault as you say you can hear sound at the headphones. It is not impossible though that a fuse has blown inside the amp, If you unplug from mains and look inside you may spot a blown fuse , (only replace with one of the same rating).
Hope this helps

Saw quick working suddenly, maybe blown fuse

Your saw will have a reset button that may be black in color but should not have a fuse

With the power off push down in the reset button you may or may not hear a small "click" plug it back in a give it a try

Pushing them to hard will cause an overload and they will quit
give it 5 minutes to cool of and resetting should do it

You may have "Blown" you speaker Amp. It may have fuses, but if that case, ONLY one channel would have blown? I think it is time to get a "Quote" from a reliable service center/man

Well my 5500 amp has evidently stoppe functioning.

What I would do is look around inside and see if anything is burnt or broken, pay close attention to the heat sink area.
With neither channel working you have something that's common to both channels that is causing the trouble.
You should be able to see any fuse by looking inside, they might be covered up, but should be easy to get to.

BEOMASTER 4000 No sound from one speaker. Tried swaping cables etc.- problem lies in the output from amplifi

Hi...
Try one other thing..headphones. If there's only 1 channel in the headphones then you'll need to take it to a tech.
Depends on where in the country you are as to a good tech.
I know some...even me in the Northeast

No power in Z-5500 logitech speakers

The logitech z 5500 digital is very sensitive to power peaks. One of the most know problems is that the fuse breaks because of these peaks. I´ll show you how to replace the system´s fuse.

First of all, you just need to write down the specification of the system´s fuse. The system´s fuse specifications are printed in the back side of your subwoofer, right next to the subwoofer´s on/off switch. In an european system it says: "T2AH250V (Time Delayed)". If you use another power voltage (120v), it may say something different. Anyway, write it down on a piece of paper and go to an electricity store and ask for a similar fuse (It is very cheap. Not more than 1$)

-The best way to get a similar fuse would be by bringing the broken fuse with yourself to the store-

In the back of your subwoofer, using an screw-driver, un-screw the fuse´s cover and remove the broken fuse. Replace it with the new fuse, attatch it to the cover and screw it back again.

If you turn on your system now, it will probably work fine.
