Question about Jensen CD3720 CD Player
Are you losing complete power? Or do you have power, but losing sound only?
Loss of Power:
If you can access the wiring loom of your Jensen, check the RED ignition wire to ensure its secure - this wire is responsible for powering the unit ON (with key ON) and OFF (when key is OFF). A multimeter will be a useful tool to check for power when key is ON.
If the RED wire is fine, then there could be an issue with the power supply on the unit. Check the fuse on the Jensen unit - if ok, then there is a fault in the Jensen unit.
Power, but no sound:
The unit is faulty and will require service (or replacement).

The substrait is probably cracked, that's the circuits inside the pc board of the faceplate. It will cost you too much to try to have it repaired. If you will wait for a few days I may have a face for it as I'm currently trying to fix one that is blowing fuses. I'm not going to spend a whole lot of time on it. I'll let you know.

it is a very common problem with the recoton/namsung companies. which make jensen, dual, qwestar, and etc. the cd player was built cheap and the cd player of course is not the best. inother words you need to replace the cd drive or send it back to jensen if still under warranty

There are many internal fuse that controls the flow of current it is being blown so you have to replace the one accordingly. You should do continuity test to find out the which fuse is blown using ohm-multimeter.Check for any burn sign or for the fuse which is getting to heated. That is the defective one you have to replace the one.It will be of this shape.
In some fuse the internal lining will be broken so you can easily find it out.
The reason why the internal fuse blows out is due to the following reasons.
Make sure power wire is not pinched.
Make sure speaker wires are not pinched.
Install fuse of correct rating and size.
Sometimes The battery and ignition wires are not connected properly. The yellow wire is for the battery and the red wire is for the ignition/ACC.
The volume reaches upto some level and it is not able to supply the required volts because of the defective fuse.
post a comment for further assistance.
Thank you for using fixya have a nice day:-)
