The resolution depends on the VGA card you have & the display or monitor you have. if you are given by default some modes those are the best suitable for viewing. any way can if you can let me know the motherboard model, VGA card model & Monitor you are using. i might be able to give you some help

May be you have set "Changed" the setting of your monitor power. If it's set then try this step and see whether it's helpful to you or not. In Windows 7, Vista, or XP, to change the power management settings. To change power management settings in Windows 7, Vista, or XP: Note: If this doesn't match what you see, refer to About navigation settings in Windows.
For Windows 7 and Vista From the Start menu, select Control Panel. Then choose Power Options.
From the list in the left panel, click Choose when to turn off the display or Change when the computer sleeps.

Computer begins to start up and then turns off after windows xp is displayed. Reformatted drive installed windows 2000, same thing happens

Hi,

The issue that you experience might be problem of your power supply please change the location or check the power supply of computer. If you shut down your Windows XP-based computer, your computer may restart instead of shutting down. The computer may also restart unexpectedly while you are using the computer to perform certain tasks. An error message may appear on a blue screen when the computer restarts.

For more information, please click the link below;

Moreover, check the motherboard, CMOS battery or SMPS, as that might be one of the reason. Any of such device not functioning properly may cause computer restarts automatically.

Cant get vista off my pakardbell i media x2414 i would like to put xp on it

Dear Sir.

In order to get xp on your computer.

You need to install windows xp by formating your computer by using the windows xp operating system cd.

If your computer comes vista installed on that you need to get xp cd from your packerd bell support.

Booting from cd rom

There are many variations of this but first is the old way where order of boot devices is set in your BIOS config. I would avoid this unless it is necessary.

A more modern approach occurs during boot where the BOIS screen displays a function key to hit for an alternate boot device and you can make a one time selection for the Cd-Rom drive. The requirements to perform are dependent on the manufacturer and model of your computer.
