Question about Samsung LN40B500 40 40" HDTV LCD TV

Open Question

Why does my tv randomly switch source input?

Sources randomly change on their own, controls on tv are odd (source and menu button brings up the menu screen plus volume and channel buttons change source). Power button still works. No remote controllability, and red power source indicator flickers red when tv is one. Solid red when off.

Look for any jammed buttons on remote or on control panel. Try removing the batteries of remote and see. Look for any loose contacts in RC jacks/sockets/Cable or even the power outlet.

How do i change the tv from cable to regular tv with out remote

Does the TV have a menu button? It could be on the front or on the side with other control buttons. If it does, you can navigate through the On-screen Display with the Ch (up/down arrows) and Vol buttons (left/right arrows).

Press Menu and go up or down to Setup. Then press the right arrow to enter the submenu. Use the right arrow to rotate through the list of tuning bands (TV, cable, etc). Press Menu to store the change and then press Menu repeatedly to exit the OSD. (This applies if the incoming cable signal was on coax and you are switching to OTA signals. If you have a cable box that was connected to a different input and you are adding OTA via a coax connection between the antenna and the TV, press Input instead.)

This is based on a Sanyo that I know. Please check your manual or provide your model for additional information.

I hope this helps.

(if the TV doesn't have a Menu button, then you will need a remote that matches the feature. I recommend you consider one with an Input or Source button if you might need to change from TV to DVD or other sources. The remote should be one that was programmed at least 6 months after the TV was released - that will be more likely to include the codes for your TV.)

We lost the remote and we are trying to hook up our Wii to the front panel box. How do we change the input to the front panel without the remote

On the side of the TV there are a set of buttons. An Input button is next to the Menu button and will let you access the different sources connected to the TV. For the front panel input, look for the source labeled Front. (There are also volume control and channel +/- buttons.) The button order is Input, Menu, Vol -, Vol +, Ch -, Ch +.

If you want, you can get a substitute remote that is guaranteed to match the original remote's features here: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=32V524T&uuid=12935850039140 .

I hope this wants.
