SOURCE: cobra HH 40 charger specs

I have a Cobra HH-40 CB radio and am charging it as I type. The included charger is rated at 16V DC, 100mA. The pattery pack charges 10 AA rechargable batteries (the manual specifies NiCd, but you can also safely use NiHM). The 12V DC car charger included cannot be used to charge the battery pack, but can power the radio.

I have a cobra frs 120 that is squelching all the time

Squelching can be a sign of a bad or poorly charged battery, or it could be a sign of RF (radio frequency waves) in the environment where the radio is located, or lastly the radio could be in need of repair.
1st check your batteries. Trade with a known good radio and see if it clears up the problem. If so, replace the battery pack. It might also be wise to check your antenna for weather checks or other signs of an aging sheath, this too can cause squelching. Lastly, try setting all your radios to a different PL code to see if it will block the interference.

Best regards

What does code C:32:20 mean

5-digit display Cause and/or Corrective Action C:04:xx You are using a battery pack that is not an "InfoLITHIUM" battery pack. Use an "InfoLITHIUM" battery pack. C:21:xx Moisture condensation has occurred. Eject the cassette and leave your camcorder for at least one hour to acclimatize. C:22:xx The video heads are dirty. Clean the heads using the Sony V8-25CLD cleaning cassette. C:31:xx
C:32:xx A malfunction other than the above that you can service has occurred.
  • Eject the cassette and insert it again, then operate your camcorder.
  • Disconnect the power cord of the AC Adapter or remove the battery pack. After reconnecting the power source, operate your camcorder.
Hope this helps

Charging batteries

the cobras are meant to work with alkaline cells. You bought nicads which are a lower voltage per cell (1.2 to 1.38). Alkalines are about 1.55-1.58

That is why your rechargeables only show a quarter charge, because their terminal voltage is lower and the radio thinks they are not fully-charged.

Flip ultra hd not charging

I had the same problem, but it seemed to be a bit more sporadic. I'd occasionally get the "Charging Paused - Check Battery Pack" error. The battery pack itself looks a bit strange, since the white plastic covers the bottom, right side and it seems that there is no possible way for the battery to make contact with the camera. However, I saw the following suggestion on another site (which the poster claimed came from Flip technical support), and this technique worked for me:

1) remove the battery pack from the camcorder
2) connect the camcorder to a powered USB port on your computer
3) when the "Connected" indicator comes on, insert the battery pack into the camcorder
4) safe eject your camcorder from your computer
5) reconnect your camcorder to your computer
6) the battery pack should now begin to charge within the camcorder

Microtalks won't charge

I have the Cobra Microtalk 4100 FRS radios with charging base. After changing the batteries with new nimh rechargables the charge light would not illuminate and the unit would not charge. I noticed the original batteries had a metal band around one end. This band makes a small connection inside the battery compartment on the first battery. Seems to be a cheap way to ensure you dont try to recharge the unit with non-rechargable batteries installed. I rapped a small piece of tinfoil around one end of the first battery in the new set then popped it back in and now they will charge correctly again. Dont try this with non-rechargable batteries! I would recomend buying original replacement batteries.

GXMG77 Everio camcorder - issue with data transfer to PC

Yes even though it doesn't make sense, the only thing that was found when I brought mine in was that the Battery was corrupted. JVC even after having it in the shop and NUMEROUS calls to customer service. They could not reproduce this problem. Until they brought me to the back to the tech and realized the only thing different was that the battery pack was not in. For some reason the battery pack was corrupted and was causing this issue. I say if you have time on your warranty bring it back and buy a new camera. This will keep happening to the battery packs and JVC will want you to keep buying new batteries. As well as start charging 90 dollars an hour even in warranty to fix it. They kept trying to hold on to it longer and longer till the warranty just ran out.

I need to set the camcorder to default settings

For most models, removing the battery pack from the camcorder will restore the default settings; however, some models which contain an EZ Q button, store your settings and removing the battery pack will have no impact on these settings. The Lithium battery maintains the clock function and preset contents of the memory; even if the Battery pack or AC Power adapter is removed. Removing the Lithium Battery along with the Battery pack will restore the default settings.
