Question about Stihl BR400 Backpack Leaf Blower

Throttle trigger does not retract

The throttle trigger moves freely and no longer retracts on it's own, requiring you to pull it out manually. Are there any springs on the inside that retract the trigger or is there a spring located somewhere else on the body of the machine?

The throttle trigger will not work on my 235e husqvarna

I'm guessing from the statement that it "will not work to increase speed" that you have been able to successfully start the chainsaw.
I have to look at this with the assumption that you haven't run a chain saw before, so bear with me if some of this is excessively simple.
If the throttle trigger does not move, something is jammed. The handle for the choke should automatically move to the retracted position when you pull on the throttle. If it doesn't, see if the trigger will move after you push the choke handle back in.
If the trigger moves in when you squeeze it but you don't hear any change in the engine sound then it's probable that the throttle wire has disconnected at the carburetor or at the handle.
Is the chain brake off? You need to pull it firmly back toward the upper handle for it to be disengaged. If the handle is forward it will lock the outer portion of the clutch. If you try to accelerate with it locked the engine will bog and not allow the chain to move.
Any of these conditions other than the chain brake will probably require some disassembly. Make sure you're confident that you've correctly reassembled everything if you're going to do it yourself.

Have a 2-4 hp lawnmower where the rewind spring and rope was broke. Have put new spring and rope on-works great in housing. When attach it to lawnmower the rope pulls out but won't retract back in. As soon...

When you remove the recoil shroud ( housing ), the square shaft sticking out should move freely in a counter-clockwise direction and you should hear clicks when you twist. If you don't hear the little balls clicking or the square shaft doesn't move freely counterclockwise, then that square shaft is rusted onto the end of the crankshaft and must be freed before it can be removed. This is a common problem for mowers left out in the elements. Sounds like the shaft is frozen onto the crankshaft end. Procedure: First, disconnect the spark plug. Get a magnet ready because 5 little balls are gonna come rolling out on this upcoming move. Take a 1/4

Whe you adjust the tightness of the harness on my car seat, it no longer clicks a short length at time and is really hard to pull model # E9L74J2 Serial # E9L74J3001067

Have you removed the car seat from the car and made sure that none of the harness is caught up anywhere? I've had that happen before. I then completely extend the harness and then retract after to make sure all is smooth. If you can't see anything caught up, and you can't extend and retract freely I would make a phone call to Britax directly (888-427-4829) in case something is malfunctioning.

N12 nailer doesn't retract completly, changed all orings, trigger valve,cylinder/piston looks good and lubricated, whats wrong?

For nailer to retract properly the lower bumper should not be missing any pieces or cracked. The upper bumper should be pliable and complete. Pull the cylinder and check for a groove cut into cylinder with a series of holes. This groove should have a snug fitting oring. It should not take much force to move the piston within cylinder. If all seems good, re-assemble using silicone paste lube available at Lowes or swimming pool supply. Easy test. With air connected and nails removed, dry fire gun against coiled rubber hose. Keep holding the trigger and keep the gun against hose. The piston should stay down and no air should leak from gun while holding in this position. Lift up gun and the piston should retract. If air leaks from bottom while holding in this manner, lower bumper is not sealing, if air leaks from top, then upper bumper is allowing air to leak from head valve. Good luck

Problems with pull cord ,pull cord not engageing, pull cord is slipping freely.it acts like a bad spring on a briggs, but iam not familiar with this make.

Pull cords are all pretty similar so if you've seen one then etc.....
Does the cord retract?
If it's a broken spring then the pull cord would not retract.
If it is retracting then it's probably dirt, grass clipping interfering with the spring loaded locking lever.
Either way the only way to be sure is to remove the top cover and inspect it visually and clean it out and spray some lubrication on it.
You should be able to do this without taking apart the actual cord and retracting coil spring. It should come off as a unit.

Once you have inspected it if you you have any other questions please let me know.
Hope this helps.

Piston not retracting

First does it retract after unplugging the air and if so I would look at the trigger valve assembly for a sticking plunger. If not then I would look at the firing valve in the cap. Let me know if I can help further.

Gaurd hits before it starts to retract.

does the guard move freely, when pulling down on the handle? or does it **** and seem to hang up. There is no adjustment on the guard that I am aware of but if you are still having problems you can call Makita Tech Support at 1-800-4625482. You will need the model number when talking to them.
