Usually in the control panel. If you go to www.searspartsdirect.com you can type in your full model# and usually get exploded views and corresponding parts list. Look for "pressure switch." My experience is that pressure switches seldom need replaced usuall trouble is found in hose or where hose connects to tub.

Should be located under the lid near the top edge, round shape with a tube going to the bottom of it and wires in the front. To remove from the frame turn the whole thing 90 degrees as fitted with with rectangular fitting on rear.

If the water continuously keeps filling the tub of the washer this would be due to either you have a bad pressure switch or the hose that is connected to the pressure switch that goes down the side of the unit and connects to the tub has either comes off its connection point or has sediment or debris inside the hose itself which would cause the same issue here is also a basic video of how the pressure switch test is done click this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZZ2bDMspj8 if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank this opinion when our chat has fully concluded it allows me to continue helping others in similar situations in the future. My amana front load washer just keeps filling. It is running out of the soap fill area. It is giving me code OE. Suggestions on what that means?

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. If the water keeps running, you need to check your water level switch. It may be defective. This switch controls the water level in the machine.

Pump noise in rear of car keeps running / Gas pump or load leveller / seems longer run time olately in cold weather ( 1999 olds aurora)

you might have a leak in the rear suspension load leveler. check connections with soapy water. locate where sound is coming from. fuel pump in tank is a slight hum and not that noticable, but the air comp for load leveler is. Also spray around rubber boots on shocks, also check load leveler switch on axle to frame for broken or loose lever control.

If I choose to have the water full to either large or even a medium level. It keeps feeling up and won't turn off. keeps running water. Why?

If water won't shut off even if you unplug the washer, then the water valve is likely stuck and will need to be replaced. If the water shuts off when water level switch is on low, but overflows when set on medium or high, it is more often the water level switch itself. Before replacing, be sure the tube going to the side of the tub is clear and not kinked. Remove the tube from the switch and blow thru it, reattach and try filling again. If it works, you should be ok, if not then replace water level switch.

Top loader keeps filling up with water and floods no matter what the cycle programmed in

HI. This will be a defective water pressure switch. Use the procedure below to inspect this switch for faults. Replace the switch, if needed.

HI, the water level switch(aka pressure switch), is responsible for regulating the water fill level in this situation. It does this through a plastic tube which runs from the switch in the control console down to the side of the outer tub, near the bottom . The tube is filled with air. As water enters the tub it also enters the tube. As water climbs inside the tube, it pushes on the air trapped inside and increases the air pressure. When the air pressure reaches a certain level, it triggers the switch.

I would advise to Inspect the air tube for kinks, breaks or damage. The tube should also be free of water. The tubing should be securely connected to the bottom of the outer tub and to the bottom of the water level switch. If there is water present, the switch must be replaced.

The water level switch has three connectors. Label and disconnect the wires from the switch. Test the switch for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1. It will be necessary to test each of the three possible pairs. replace the switch if it fails the continuity test.

The switch location will be just behind the main control sector, or near the inlet valve. It will be the only switch with a small hose running into its housing.

Wate does not shut off

If your saying , when the machine is off , the water keeps running , you need to replace the water mixing valve pt. # 285805 . If your saying , when filling , the water does not cut off , then it could be the water level switch hose came off , which is located behind the control panel , and it just needs slid back on , OR , it could be a bad water level switch ( not likely though ) .

You have a bad water level selecter switch (Load size) you will need to replace. It's not hard, located inside the console and does not cost much.

Washer overflowing

Remove the control console cover. Find the water level switch.
It has a small tube attached to it.
Remove the tube and blow air through it. It is probably stopped up. Reattach it to the water level switch.
Look over the length of the tube and may sure it is not pinched.
Set the washer to spin and run spin for about 1 minute.
Then run water on a lower level and see if it shuts off.
If not replace the water level switch.
