Go into control panel / sounds / sounds and audio / select audio blind / should see a driver listed in each device. Back to sounds blind /test sound, if you can see the black arrow but its greyed out then driver is faulty. If you can click on it and it changes baxk to th esquare all is OK, ensure the sound jack is plugged into the GREEN ones at rear PC. Also check in volume blind that speakers are selected.

Hi!... I am using window 7 ultimate 64 bit. I am facing the problem of full HD. earlier when me using window Vista that has been ok. If there is any solution plz let me know!.. thanks Moiz Raja

windows 7 os requires atleast 16GB avilable space while windows vista requires atleast 15gb. It could be true that your system requirements are not sufficient for the new os you want to install
If you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it takes:
  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor

  • 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)

  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

  • DVD-ROM drive

If you want to run Windows Vista on your PC, here's what it takes:

  • 1 gigahertz (GHz) 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor

  • 1 gigabyte (GB) of system memory (512 megabytes (MB) for Home Basic)

  • 40 GB hard drive with at least 15 GB of available space (20 GB for Home Basic)

  • Support for DirectX 9 graphics with WDDM and 128 MB of graphics memory (32 MB for Home Basic)

  • DVD-ROM drive

Have just upgraded to windows 7 and my Viewsonic vx715 is only recognised as a generic PnP monitor and I can't load drivers from disc supplied. monitor is approx 6yrs old and still going fine!

In most cases you don't need the drivers for a monitor to work completely fine. In order to obtain your drivers you can always check the manufacturers website and they should have drivers listed, in your case they do. Although I couldn't locate VX715 i found many VX models in the driver search. There should be one that works fine, just make sure you download the right right IE: windows 7 x32/86 if your running a 32-bit operating system, or windows 7 x64 if you are running a 64 bit operating system. Here is the website I located http://www.viewsonic.com/support/downloads/drivers/

I have a Soyo MT NI DYLM 2086 and have bought a new computer. Do I need to download anything to insure that I get full screen / maximum clarity from the new computer?

The new computer will determine whether this is needed or not. If the computer is a 32 bit Operating System such as Vista 32-bit or Windows XP 32-bit then there is probably no need for any additional drivers. With some of the newer OS systems it may be needed, but there is little chance you should need to download monitor drivers for any system.

If you find that you are not getting complete clarity with higher resolution, in searching around for drivers for your monitor I have found it to be almost a dead end. I am seeing on the net that many people are finding it impossible to find newer drivers. So the alternate could be that you use some of the windows generic drivers to produce the resolution you are looking for and see if one of them works with your Soyo monitor.

Ensure that the monitor's UltraBrite mode is off, via the "UltraBrite Mode" button on the front panel. UltraBrite is great for games and movies, but it tends to fuzz plain text ever so slightly.
