Question about SanDisk Sansa e250 MP3 Player

Refresh Database??? Hello! I have a Sandisk Sansa Rhapsody... One day I was listening to my music and notice my battery was getting low... I figured I would let the battery completly die out and then I would recharge it. Well, I did exactly that and after it was completly charged... I turned it on and I got a "Refresh Database"??? I've tried EVERTHING and it still will not work!!! I've only had it for 1 1/2 years and have not had problems with it. Yes, at time it would freeze but I would just hold the menu button down for a few seconds and then turn it back on. NO PROBLEMS!! If whatever is DOWNLOADING the database... it is taking FREAKING FOREVER!!! Any help would be much appreciated! Signed.... Ready2givUP!!

Try removing the battery and then it should work when you reinstall the battery. I've had this happen a couple of times.

Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from Sandisk's website and try again. Is your Rhapsody subscription up-to-date. If not, update your subscription.

No subcsriuption to rhapsody, can I still listen to the music

You have to renew if you want to keep the ones that are on there now. Better to delete them all, and get a free music svc like Limewire.

Through the menu system on the Sansa, change your transfer setting from MTP to UMS. When you connect your Sansa, you should now see a drive in My Computer into which you can drag and drop music files.

You have to synchronize your Sansa to a computer that has a current subscription to Rhapsody, and you have to sync the Sansa to that same computer at least once every 30 days, or the Rhapsody songs will stop working. Use a different music service that is free, or convert all of the songs to Mp3 format to get around the problem. If you get a subscription to another music svc, then you must maintain a current subscription with whatever new svc you choose as well.

Very weird...

'Refresh Database' doesn't mean everything is erased. It only means it's writing the progress that you made, onto the computer. It stays on 'Refresh Database' for about maybe 5-10 minutes. It refreshes its database every time you disconnect your MP3 player from the computer. What it does when you disconnect it from the computer is it saves any unsaved changes made to it and overwrites the memory or data.

Refresh Database???

The application failed error means the you have a different version, not supported by this file.

You have a Rhapsody version.

You will need to contact SanDisk to have the recovery files sent to you.

Sansa e250 screen is stuck on refresh database

Press the "lock" button to where the Orange is showing. Then press the record button on the left side of the MP3 for a bit. Try this several times. I did it twice and it worked! M.P.

"refresh database failed"

You have an error in the firmware. This is damage than is irreparable by any user of a mp3 player. Call the company, tell then that your firmware was corrupted and ask how you can "hard boot" back into a "Fresh copy" of your firmware. Problem solved! hope this helps!
