Check fittings at front of pump for tightness. Threds have to been hand tight with 1.5 to 2 full turns with wrench. Also put ear to front of inlet fitting into pump and listen for air hissing, also an indication that threads arent tight enough or misaligned.

Pump motor will not turn over without manual priming?

All pumps need to be primed. The Self-Priming pumps still require water in the basket.
If water is not staying in the plumbing system when it is turned off, then you have a leak in one of the o-rings or the shaft seal.

Self priming hot tub pump won't prime

If you have had the tub empty and refilled this could be an air lock and all you may need to do is open the drain valve till you get water out of it. Good luck

Not self priming itself. when it turns off the water pushes back out of the skimmer and pushes the basket up. it loses water and the pump cant re-prime itself.

PRIME PUMP, OPEN AIR VALVE ON FILTER. OR TAKE THE LID OFF YOUR FILTER AND SEE IF IT STARTS TO PUMP... YOU DO HAVE IT PLUMBED RIGHT? THE PIPE COMING OUT OF THE PUMP GOES TO THE FILTER !! I'M YOUR LOCAL POOL PUMP REPAIR GUY IN LONGWOOD FLORIDA. WHERE THE POOL IS ALWAYS OPEN

How do u prime the pump?

If the pump is holding water at the pot the first thing to check is the pot lid "O" ring and the pot lid for cracks. Then you will need to check the suction line for leaks Without seeing your system this is about all I can help you with. Good luck.

Polaris booster pump turns on for about 3 seconds. then its pops off. but it doesn't trip breaker and in about one or two minutes you can hear it click and reset itself. you can then turn it on and it will...

That click you hear is the pump's breaker, or thermal overload kicking in. After about one minute, the pump has cooled down again.

I believe this type of pump is not self-priming, and therefore, it needs to be primed and purged of air. If it is not a self priming pump, there should be a small plug on top of the pump housing. Remove the plug, and add water from the top opening until the water overflows, and then replace the plug. Or, if when you remove the plug, water comes out the top opening, let it flow for a few seconds, and then replace the plug. Then, turn the pump on.
Hope this was helpful...

Lossing Prime

It's pulling in air very slowly from somewhere:

priming pot lid,
valve body tops,
valve handles,
pipe unions, --
check gaskets/o-rings-- replace defective ones, lubricate
tighten everything possible
