Same issue here. I'm debating to send it back as most specs are pointing to the A-B model as being 60Hz. I can't really tell of it's pushing 120 or 60 (ignoring the fact that the screen says 60Hz.) It almost "feels" like it's 120 but can't say for sure. Can anyone please confirm that the "A-B" version is indeed 120 or not? Thanks!

My mde7600ayw is a 3 wire 120/240 v 60hz 5600w.

Hi, yes that is the correct cord all right. If you'll notice the new cord has 2 hot (red & black) a neutral (white) and ground/earth (green) wires. In case you are not sure how to connect I've attached a photo which shows the correct way. If my attachment didn't work, check out you-tube and type in "4 wire dryer hook up". Thanks for visiting "fixya" and good luck macmarkus :) IMG_3336.JPG

What are your power requirements? I lived in Europe for a while and all the appliances ran on 220 VAC, 50hz. Most American appliances that use 220 VAC (like dryers and electric ranges) have 60hz timers, clocks and motors. Now...if the European standard is still true (I haven't been there in years), you can probably use your dryer, but the timing will not be accurate. Your timer will probably run slower than required.
