HP HD-4110 webcam. Will not focus. worked well for a few months. Now when I turn it on the focus is good until the auto-focus cycles. Then anything more than a few inches from the cam is blurry. Manual over-ride focus has no effect at all. Any Ideas?

I have the same exact issue - however, it appeared. In order to understand whether it is the driver/os issue I moved my camera to a different computer - from Windows desktop to Mac laptop. And the issue still PERSISTS. I did not have the same problem in the past few months where I used the exact same setup and the same camera. Thus, it can be that the camera went bad (unlikely) or a Skype issue (likely). I think it might be related to the peer connection re-evaluation that happens in the "~30 sec" interval
When you pull up Microsoft Lifecam you go to Settings then Properties. There you'll see under the tab Camera Control there will be the text "Auto" and under it will have a box with a check mark in it. What you need to do is uncheck that box then click OK. After that it shouldn't autofocus anymore. I hope this helps :)
DriverGuide.com has this driver, search under Micro Innovations as the manufacturer. You won't find it under the HP stuff. The free driverguide registration is a pain in the ****, but worth it. I just downloaded it and it works. (might have been worth it to throw it away and buy a new webcam tho)
