Whirlpool gas oven shuts down after cooking for extended periods

Whirlpool SF367LEMQ1 oven. Customer says it does fine for short cooking periods but shuts down for longer periods. I am assuming this is some sort of overheat protection thermostat.????

Id like to see it happen bfore replacin parts, but the control panel is the only "control for bake" there is no "resetable thermostat", and it uses direct spark , not an ignitor( usual suspect)..perhaps after long heating the relay on the control heats up and doesnt close correctly

WHIRLPOOL Sup Cap 465 oven turns on for 3 sec, then shuts off

The flame sensor is dirty or bad.

When the unit does not sense flame after ignition, the gas valve shuts down the system.

They can become corroded or dirty, but usually just need to be replaced.

Contact whirlpool for warranty info. If the unit is under warranty, they should send you the parts for free. If not, they can direct you in how to order the part.

Kenmore SF367.....Contantly relighting during cooking?

This is a normal function of your gas range. I own a similar model and it operates the same way. The gas is not required to be on continuously to maintain the oven temperature and will relight periodically when the internal temperature drops below the prescribed set level.

Dual fuel kitchenaid; burners work, oven does not

I had a similar problem. There's a thermostat before the control panel. You need to remove the knobs and the front panel to get to it. You'll also need to remove a couple of trim pieces to keep from bending the panel. The part number is Whirlpool W10017820, sells for about $40.

Oven pilot shuts off while cooking model H286RC-24

You may have an adjustment problem. The pilot flame needs to under the thermocoupler back from the tip just a touch. But ultimately, if the flame is good, the thermocoupler is good, you have a bad valve.

Also make sure that there is no overall gas pressure problems with the unit. A bad regulator can starve a unit for gas one minute, and work the next.
