Remove SUB-TS11 Amplifier

I can't remove the back plate / SUB-TS11 Amplifier from the subwoofer (from HKTS-11 system). There are ten screws that has been removed according to the repair guide, but also some sort of machine screw (M8*70 round head) that might has to be removed as well. However, this screw is virtually impossible to loosen. I have nudged it, but it is firm. Do I need special equipment or is there a "simple" way to remove this?

You don't have to cut the speaker wires.
Under the foam wrapping is a connector - just unclip it!

SOURCE: Mackie srm350 - is there any way of replacing the

The sockets are attached to the board and teh entire back must be removed. Then the board mustbe removed from the back to gain access to the jacks. This is not a simple repair and without experience in these types of repairs, I would not suggest you attempt it. The jack itself should ony cost a few $$ and the labor should not be excessive. You may also want to investigate why the jack became loose. This is a rather unusual failure for these units.

How do you remove the volume knob on the Sunfire Subwoofer? Does it pull out easily or do you have to take the amplifier plate off and tighten from the inside?

Hi,
I had the same problem as this, the fix was quite simple and the hum never came back.

If you pull straight out on the sub amp's volume knob it will slide off, then to fix the hum, tighten the nut that is behind the knob on the potentiometer and your hum should go away. My hum went away and never came back after this fix. Hope this helps you.

It could be because of your subwoofer AMP is gone.

Temp fix: Disconnect the subwoofer wire from receiver for 20-30mins and plug-it back. It did work for couple of months.

Where can I find sub board assembly for Sub-TS5. Part # 104SUB13500

If you haven't already found one, there is one currently on Amazon. It is pretty pricey at $50, though. You'd be better off buying a new sub.

My small son throwed so many small toys inside subwoofer. How can I open and get rid of them? Philips subwoofer.

he must have done it through the port in the front of the subwoofer.
If you look in the back of the sub woofer you will notice a metal back plate with all the sockets and controls on it. You will notic a lot of screws on it, now remember only to remove all the screws close to the edge of the metal plate ( do not remove any of the screws in the middle portion ) about 8 to 12 screws. After removing the screws pull out the metal plate gently. There will be some cables attached to the plate , do not attempt to remove this !!. Shine a torch into the box and see if you can retrieve the toys from the gap you have created by parting the back plate.
After having removed the toys place the plate back carefully making suree no wire is trapped between the box and the plate. Put two screws on the opposite ends and then lift the subwoofer and shake it to confirm if any more toys are in before you put back all the other screws.

I am getting no sound from sub. The turns on, but so sound. I have connected to two different receivers to verify it isn't the receiver sub output.

Bear with me on this.

Just because two systems don't light this sub up doesn't prove the amps are faultless unless they work with other subs. Can you assert that?

My HKTS 7 Sub woofer makes no noise, the led burns from amber to blue as normal, and every so often i hear a low rumble noise. The Sub is powered and has 1 cable to the receiver, the fuse is also good.

Subwoofer is center speaker from A+B speaker signals. first check your wire to the receiver. Otherwise you need electronics service on the amplifier inside the speaker.

Popping harman kardon subwoofer

Mine did the same thing all of a sudden. The problem is a AC mains detection circuit that seems to affect many previous HK sub models. The solution that worked for me was to replace capacitor C112 on the main pcb of the subwoofer amplifier. You need to remove it from the circuit board with a soldering gun and replace it with a higher rated capacitor. I used a 2u2 40v and the subwoofer is working perfectly again! :)
