Question about HP Photosmart D7360 All-In-One InkJet Printer
We have a home network for our two laptops. We have three printers connected through a printer port hub (an HP D7360, an EPSON photo printer and a Canon i860). I've previously been able to print just fine from my laptop. I can print to the Canon; I have not tried printing to the EPSON because that's my husband's printer; even though I've been printing to the HP D7360 just fine, when I recently tried to print a document (a photo) - as I have done many times before - it will not print. I CAN successfully print a test page which tells me that this printer is correctly installed. But when I try to print a document, the printer doesn't even blink. When I send a document to the HP, I receive a message saying that my document has printed out, even though it has not; also, under "Printers & Faxes", this printer shows as "ready" and shows that a document is "printing" - even though it is not. Can you help?
Disconnect that USB cable and reconnect back
Make sure printer will be detected by computer
Go to Printers and Faxes
Right click HP printer icon and select properties
Select 'Port' tab
Make sure the one that has a check mark is USB Virtual Printer Port....or DOT4......
If issue still persist continue with the next step
Type net stop spooler
and the press OK
Go back to run and then type in
net start spooler

Try removing all ports from your laptop, then reboot, and then create just one USB port. Also, go to your hardware devices and make sure your usb ports don't have any question marks or yellow warning symbols. Be sure first that the drivers for your USB ports are installed and working first. This sounds either a faulty USB cord, which does happen, or USB drivers issues in your laptop. The printer is probably not the problem here.
