Your drive belt is probably broken or has slipped off. unplug your machine and turn it on its side (remove the pan and paddle first) and remove the bottom panel with a screwdriver. You will then be able to see if the belt is broken or has slipped off. You can reach me at breadmachineshelp.com for reinstall or replacement of your belt.

Ok, with the pan and paddle out of the machine and with the machine still on its side plug it in and choose the basic white bread program and then push the START button. Does the large pully wheel turn around and around?

If it does turn around and around then go ahead and push the START/STOP BUTTON AGAIN TO END THE PROGRAM. If it doesn't spin around an around then you do have a serious problem.

I did everything you said and it works perfectly as of now. Of course, I'm having a terrible time getting the bottom plate back on. grrrrr Thanks!

check the underside of the basket. I have had problems with the lock washer, causing the wing nut to slip and not providing any turn to the shaft and paddle.

SOURCE: I have a cuisinart CBK

some machines do just rotate in one direction and that is enough to knead the dough. Was the final result (the baked loaf) not satisfactory?

Why does bread deflate?

See if the paddle shaft in the bottom of the pan is frozen. If it is, free it up manually. Then get it good and dry and oil it with cooking oil. After that, every time you bake, put the oil for the recipe in first and turn the paddle until it moves freely. Once the oil is in the bearing, it will keep the water out and the machine will move properly. I have gotten away with this fix for hundreds of loaves.

Cuisinart cbk-200 bread pan paddle does not turn.

Your drive belt is probably broken or has slipped off. Unplug your machine and turn it on its side (remove the pan and paddle first) and remove the bottom panel with a screwdriver. Most bread machines have a removable panel. Hopefully yours is one of those. You will then be able to see if the belt is broken or has slipped off. You can reach me at breadmachineshelp.com for reinstall or replacement of your belt. If your belt has a number code on it I will need that. It will look something like this: STS 60 S3M471 If it has no code on it I still may be able to figure out the belt you need. Again, reach me at my website: breadmachineshelp.com

While the machine is kneading it makes an awful grinding sound. It sounds like the paddle is not moving. If you lift the dough up the paddle moves freely.

It sounds like your belt is slipping. All bread machine operate off of an electric motor and drive belt and they do wear out.

The machine gets warm but the paddle doesn't turn.

Hi, The paddle should turn freely by hand with the bread pan out of the machine. Make sure the pan is inserted in the machine correctly. If the motor shaft turns but the paddle doesn't then the sealed bearing that the paddle rotates on has failed and is frozen so the paddle does not turn.. You may need a new bread pan. Hank

Kneeding seems to jam frequently

Hi, Take the bread pan and paddle out of the machine and see if the paddle spins freely by hand. If it sticks then the sealed bearing is failing. If everything is good here, check the tension on the belt pulley. The belt may be too loose to spin the paddle freely under load. Belt and motor is inside the base of the machine. Good Luck..Hank

Basket is not staying in place during the kneading process and the noise is unbelievable! Help!

Hi,
Take the bread pan out of the machine. Start a kneading cycle and see if the noise is still there. If yes then motor spindle is bent, the motor is bad or the belts are pulleys need attention. If the noise you heard is not as bad, then it is the seal on the bread pan ( the seal and shaft that the paddle goes on).
