SOURCE: where is the filter on

1. Unplug the washer while servicing inside the unit.
2. Remove the lower kick panel under the door by removing the three 7mm screws under the bottom edge of the panel. HINT: Use a couple of blocks of wood to prop up the front feet of the washer to gain better access to the screws. Once the screws are removed the panel should drop down, and then pull off. If the panel becomes stuck, a slight tap on either side will dislodge it.
3. Locate the drain pump. It will be located directly under the wash tub (it is the only pump this washer has).
4. There is an access removal cover on the pump that can be removed to clean out the trap. BEFORE doing this, it is strongly recommended that you remove all residual water from the wash tub & drain line or you will have about a gallon or so inside your washer and on the floor to clean up.
5. Here’s a helpful way of quickly removing the residual water. If you own a wet/dry shop vac, remove the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum with the shop vac. This will empty the wash tub, pump and drain lines. If you don’t own a shop vac, grab a bunch of old towels and open the access on the pump slowly so that it comes out at a trickle. Allow the towels to soak up the majority of the water. Close the access and stop the water if you need to get additional towels.
6. Open the pump access and remove once you have all the water drained. Check the drain pump for foreign objects and debris. Check the pump impeller and make sure there’s nothing caught in it. Items as small as toothpicks or cotton swabs have been known to stop this pump from working.
7. Clean out the pump thoroughly and reinstall the access cover. Make sure the cover is snug, but do not over tighten.
8. Place the drain hose back in the standpipe (IMPORTANT – DO NOT FORGET!).
9. With the bottom panel still off, plug the washer back in and select the following on the operator console – DRAIN SPIN, NO SPIN, and then press any button under OPTIONS 4 times (it must be the same button). “C00” will show on the console display as the washer begins diagnostics mode.
10. Check the drain pump for leaks as the washer fills. The pump is gravity filled and will hold water even it is not pumping. Allow washer to run through diagnostics until it begins the wash tub tumble cycle.
11. At this point, you can stop the diagnostics procedure by pressing PAUSE/CANCEL 2 times. The drain pump energizes and the washer will begin to drain.
12. If the drain pump works normal and there are no leaks detected, reinstall the bottom panel and tighten screws.

NOTE: It is normal to have residual water left inside the wash tub under the wash basket. This is why it is important to leave the door ajar when not in use so this water does not become sour.

SOURCE: Kenmore Washer HE 2plus my machine has an error F

The technical details of this fault code are shown in the first image below. This information is valid for most Kenmore HE2+ washers. It is likely that it will apply to your model. If the washer is not filling with any water, check the water supply faucets behind the washer to make sure that they are properly open. If you are using a floodsafe device as shown in the second image on your water supply lines, I recommend replacing this device with normal water supply hoses. The floodsafe device will not work properly on most washers. Turn off the water supply faucets and remove the supply hoses from the connection on the back of the washer. Check the inlet screens on the back of the washer for debris or deposits that could prevent the washer from filling properly. Clean the screens if necessary and carefully replace them after flushing the inlet to the water valves thoroughly with water. (Failure to properly flush the inlet area could result in debris getting past the screens and fouling the inlet water valves.) While the water supply hoses are still disconnected from the back of the washer, place the ends of the hoses in a bucket and briefly turn on the water supply faucets to check the water pressure and flow from them. If the water supply is inadequate, you may need a plumber to resolve this problem. If the washer still won't fill after checking these issues, then you could have a failure in the solenoid water fill valves for the washer. You could also have a wiring failure or a problem with the electronic control board.

If the washer is filling, your problem would likely be in the water level pressure switch or the air pressure tube between the bottom of the tub and the pressure switch. A wiring failure or control board problem could also prevent the water level from being properly detected. To access the water level pressure switch, you can unplug the washer and remove the top panel. Screws at the very back of the top panel secure it to the washer. Remove these screws and then pull the top panel slightly back and then up and off the top of the washer. The water level pressure switch is normally on the rear of the right side panel of the washer. Check the air pressure hose and wiring connections. If no problems are found, you may need to replace this part.

SOURCE: I have a 5d fault code on my HE 2plus kenmore

  1. Remove the lower front panel and remove the cover for the drainage filter. Slide this tray out and clean it.
  2. Unplug the washer for at least 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). Sometimes this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches with the unit.
  3. If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended to replace the drain pump.

SOURCE: Just received error code 5D

Hello, welcome to fixya.

Based on your post I understand you have a "SD" error problem (looks like a 5D in the digital display) with a Kenmore washer, the error means an excessive drain time or excessive suds was detected as you may or may not already know.

If you follow the link to my solution to this error designed specifically for "do-it-yourselfers" you should be fixed up in no time. (It's much quicker for me than pasting or retyping the complete solution several hundred times, that's how common this is)

If the drum will not rotate at all then a Possible cause may be worn motor brushes. Simple to change if you have a electic shop nearby ask them if they stock brushes for the motor for your make and model. You should be able to obtain online as well. I replaced my Bosch brushes for around a tenner

Kenmore HE3 2plus wont finish cycle

I'm not saying you don't have a problem. But just to be clear. You do understand that the last minutes on these machines can vary. The machine senses certain conditions in clothing, water discharge, etc. So sometimes the "1 min left" indication can stretch into many minutes. In theory, at least, it's possible your machine just needs to be left alone until it finishes whatever it's doing. However, one would think that any issues not resolved in 10 - 20 min are an indication of a problem. So i guess that's my next question, did you wait long enough? Keep in mind i am not a kenmore expert.

HE 2plus problem

Hello, the F-21 blinking is an indication has a too long of a drain out condition, and what actually cause these is when the control call for the unit to drain and the water does not drain out in 8 minutes or less the unit will stop and flash F-21. So try checking the drain pump and pressure switch circuit.

Thanks
