Cannot reboot my HP computer using Windows 10, as Windows 10 DOES NOT PLAY CD's,so unable to use any repair discs. Am looking at a black screen with a circle of unending white dots. HELP

NO PC stated, it has a full model number that matters.seen on
all HP puters, the service tag.
HP has PC from 1984 to now/. are we to guess which one?
the modern Hp puter if 10 years old or newer
has the MAGIC F11 key,
you power on, and hammer F11, and boom , HP recovery happens.
if you slammed the HDD with other OS, F11 will be dead.
making only install DVD's and install USB sticks work
guess what w10 will never ever ever fit on any CD ever.
8GB will not it 700mb media ever.

windows wont play lots of things but if you had looked
there are vast free programs to play anything you want
you never stated one thing to play,>?
formats.
there are 100s of audio files to play (music Mp3 tops list)
i bet you CD-DA store bought music plays .
for audio we use.

there vast movie files to play. mp4 is tops. but lots more
we use VLC to play them all (google that)

hp sells you the install media, at hp.
it does work on your PC, if not slammed.
if PC came with W7 and was updated to 10
the HP does not support you, due to W7 OEM licensing rules.
so what what PC is this.
and what did the PC come with new, W7? or what?

if you look in the Optical media drive it tells you clearly what it supports. CD /DVD , DVD-R, , BRay. an more.
best is pc with upgraded drive, here. so it does them all
a win there. no?
ever seen this.? on side of Desk top
or on laptop bottom
or in Laptop battery well battery popped out. this is
a model example seen ON ALL HP ever made.

post this first, and answers get 10 better, for sure mine !!!

INTERNAL CD DRIVE WONT OPEN

There are a couple of issues that can cause the tray of an internal optical drive to stay closed when you press the drive's eject button. One: there is no power to the drive. If the drive does not show up in the list of discs in the computer, this could be your problem. (In any Windows OS, click Start > Computer (My Computer) or double left click the icon for Computer.) You will need to open the computer and check that the power cable is fully seated and oriented correctly (it won't fit the wrong way). For a desktop, an IDE drive uses a 4 pin power connector. A SATA drive uses a 15 pin power connector. If your power supply has additional power connections for the type of drive, try a different connector. If the power connector has a 4 pin to 15 pin adapter, make sure this is fully seated. (Try a new adapter.) If that doesn't help, make sure that the power supply is providing enough power for all devices. The second problem may be failure of the open/close mechanism.

I recently had an optical drive that slowly had the open/close mechanism fail. At first the eject button wouldn't work when there was no disc in the drive; using the Eject option from the OS did work. Then the OS eject stopped working consistently and it wouldn't eject with a disc in the drive. I used the Emergency ejection option (straighten a paperclip)to check for a problem with dirt in the mechanism or the belt slipping and then put a disc in the drive. Replacing the drive was my final solution. (A new CD/DVD burner is under $20; thus it wasn't worth my time to fix the mechanism on a 5+ year old optical drive.)

Some Lite-On (and related OEM) drives develop this problem early. For these drives, the problem is that the magnet that holds the optical disc in place actually blocks the drive tray. The solution that some find works, is to remove the optical drive and open the outer-case of the unit. (This should be avoided if the drive is still under warranty.) There is a circular section in the case and that is the section that you want to access. Pull out the magnet and make two circles of duct tape just slightly smaller than the magnet. Stick a nail through the center of the circles. (You need the hole to make sure that it still functions correctly. The circles are smaller than the magnet to avoid getting adhesive inside the optical drive.) Stick one of the circles to the magnet (and then put the second circle on top of that). Replace the magnet and close the case of the optical drive. Replace the drive in the computer. Plug in the data and power cables and close the computer back up. Make sure that the data cable is still firmly connected to the motherboard before closing the case. (Note: be careful to stay grounded relative to the computer case when you remove the drive and then replace it.)

The SE-S164L is an external drive, so you may not have given the correct model. Please add a comment with the model optical drive in your computer. Slot-loading drives require a different trouble-shooting routine.

I hope this helps.

The first two links you've probalbly seen before, they show conncections and connectors. I looked at pictures of your system and it would appear that the only input for video and audio is RCA. I think it has s-video for video only(s-video slightly better). The third link is the only way I can see to get what you are asking. It is an HDMI to RCA adaptor. You would use an HDMI cable out from your set top box to the adaptor then, RCA cables to your DAV-S300. It's the only way I can see. Hope this helps.

Two bright blue half circles on bottom of telivision Sony LCD projection set

YOU HAVE EITHER A DEFECTIVE OPTICAL ENGINE ASSEMBLY OR THE OPTICAL ENGINE IS JUST DIRTY INTERNALLY. IF YOU CAN TURN THE TV OFF AND STILL SEE THE BLUE SPOTS AFTER THE VIDEO GOES AWAY THEN IT WILL BE DEFECTIVE OPTICAL ENGINE IF NOT THEN IT IS MOST LIKELY DIRTY OPTICAL ENGINE.

How do we solve level 89 on professor layton and pandoras box

Some players have trouble with this puzzle by not noticing that the bottom circle is part of the red area

If you diagonally divide the top red section into four equal shapes, these shapes can be placed around the circle to form a square

As you're given half the length of the square, working out the area becomes a simple calculation

The solution and a picture showing the above can be seen here

DVD rom drive not seen on My Computer Page using XP profesional unable to identify drive but drive spins up when inserting a disc, No optical drive on system page either. Notebook had new hard drive after...

4 Possibilities can occur there.

1. It's either that the Optical Drive is disabled in the BIOS

2. It's either that the Optical Drive is faulty

3. It's either that the Optical Drive's connection to the motherboard is loose or disconnected

4. It's probably the Operating System is not showing the drive for some unknown reasons.

This is only based on my experience troubleshooting desktop and laptop computer.

Discolored strips across top of screen.

If they are pink or blue stripes, I have seen this before. I hope the TV is less than two years old, because the optical block has to be replaced. The optical block has a two year warranty on the part, but you will have to pay labor. Just to double check, make sure you can see it on all inputs and also that it shows up on the menu and on screen display. If yes to all of these, it's the optical block and no adjustments will help. Be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!
