Question about Chamberlain 950CB Remote Control

1 Answer

Remote does not open garage door

I have a Chamberlain LiftMaster Pro 1.3 garage door opener (371LM) that works fine from the wired button, but the remote doesn't work. From the picture on this site, I think the remote I have is Chamberlain 950CB.

The Chamberlain was installed new with the house just two years ago (Feb 06). The remote worked fine until I programmed one of my car visor buttons to open the garage door about a month ago. Then the car button worked but the remote stopped working. So a week ago, I tried to reprogram the remote by pressing the learn key on the opener and pressing the remote key. The process seemed to go fine, with the lights flashing at the proper time. But afterward the remote didn't work and my car button stopped working.

I've tried reprogramming the remote and the car button several times to no avail. I've also replaced the battery in the remote and reprogrammed it, but nothing. I do have two remotes, and have replaced the battery in the other one as well, tried reprogramming it. Nothing.

At this point, the only thing that works is the wired button on the wall. Funny thing, when I press the remote button, the light on the opener flashes as though it is receiving the signal, but the door doesn't budge.

This makes sense, but unfortunately there is no lock button on my system. I ended up taking the batteries out of my remotes and putting them back in to see if this would reset anything. (They were brand new.) Then I pressed and released the Learn button, then pressed the button on the remote (it's a single-button remote), and that successfully reprogrammed each remote. Now I'm back to my original problem of the remotes working, but the car visor button not working. But this is a better problem to have. Thanks for trying.

My Bose sound bar worked fine for about a year. Now it turns on and the light flashes like it is working, but no sound comes out. Could it be the battery in the remote, even though the light is coming on and flashing?

It sounds like the wall button has the lock feature engauged.

Is there a small green LED flashing inside the wall button?
Push and hold the lock button for about two seconds and the LED should stop flashing. This will unlock the garage door opener and your remotes should start working. You may have to reprogram your remotes and homelink again since you triedprograming in the lock mode.

Good luck.

How do I change the code on my garage door opener. Have one and lost one.

Press an hold the learn button on the garage door opener for 10 seconds. You will notice an amber LED either next to or above the learn button. When the LED goes out the anything that was previously programed will be deleted. Now press and release the learn button once the amber LED will come on steady. Now press the button on the garage door opener you want to program to the garage door opener. You will hear a click and the light bulb on the garage door opener will go off and come back on. Your garage door opener remote is now programed with a new code.

How do I change the frequency of a garage door opener 139.53930ODM?

Hi... You have to "erase all codes" (you can read that section of the manual and teach the opener to use the remote using a new code. You can get the manual at the Craftsman site, page 35. Essentially you do this: access the reset button n the back right of the motor, press and hold the 'learn' for 6 seconds or more, until the learn light goes off. TO reprogram it, press the learn button until the light goes on, then within 30 seconds, press and hold the desired button of the remote. Voila!

Open it up remove the battery and let everything dry out completely. Put it back together when dry and it should work.

Not sure if you have deep switch or smart learn button. In first situation you need to change the sequence, in the other, pressing the learn button for more then 30 sec should reset and erase all remotes from opener memory..

Locked out & Remote not working

There should be a green button on the back of the motor unit, press it for 2 seconds and then hold down your remote button until the light flashs. or for 3-5 seconds and then activate the remote. that might solve your problem

Have chamberlain security plus 950cb lost instructions.

http://www.chamberlain-diy.com/doityourself/pdfdocs/114A2184.pdf
This web address came from the Chamberlain site. I also needed to relearn my remotes due to a newer car that has a built in garage door opener that needed to be set. I also needed to reset my keypad remote, those instructions I was able to get from the same site. Good Luck

When I key in the code the garage door closes, but when I key in the code to open the door, nothing happens It is actually a Skylink garage door opener but unable to find in the selection list

MANY UNITS NOW HAVE A ONE BUTTON CLOSE FEATURE. THIS WILL CLOSE THE DOOR WITHOUT PRESSING THE PROPER CODE.

HOWEVER, IT WILL NOT OPEN THE DOOR WITHOUT THE PROPER CODE.

SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A REMOTE THAT WILL SEND A CODE AND CLOSE THE DOOR. IT MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE PROGRAMED TO OPEN THE DOOR. YOU CAN GET AN EXTERNAL UNIVERSAL RECIEVER IF CHAMBERLAIN OR LIFTMASTER ARE ON THE LIST THAT WOULD WORK.

HOPE THIS HELPS
