If your battery is draining overnight and, you attribute it to the alarm, it could be a improperly installed starter kill relay. If the relay is wired to battery instead of ignition will do it.

Viper 211hv draining battery

If you are sure it is the system draining maybe the installer did not properly connect the GEM module. It would be wise to return to where it was installed and have that checked. If you are unsure if that is the cause then you could unplug remote unit and see if problem persists..

I own a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, do I have to buy additional parts to have it installed, All I want it to do is remotely start my vehicle and lock and unlock my doors

Yes you will need a module to interface the GM Anti-theft system in your vehicle. It's a fairly simple solution, and should run you around $100. it needs to fool your car into thinking the key is in the ignition when it remote starts, or else the Factory Anti-theft will trigger and not allow your vehicle to start, and trigger the factory alarm. ( your horn with sound off)

Viper remote 771xv works, but gives three steady tones at regular intervals after using.

That means that your remote is not receiving a signal from the remote starter. That's a two-way unit designed to transmit(tx) and receive(rx) signals to and from the antenna or brain. If it doesn't do either one, the remote will give you three triple beeps.

Problem with my viper alarm system on my 98' odyssey

first, you need to manuslly disarm the alarm. open driver's door, put key in ignition, turn on ignition, an then within 10 seconds push the valet/program button for a couple of seconds. (it is the little spring loaded push button that they installed with your system. probably in the kick panel or under dash
