Question about Sewing Machines
Replaced foot pedal and oiled all points - still runs slow no matter how much you push down on the pedal. On the other hand it still sews perfectly.
Check the plug in to the outlet first
then check the power cord connection to the sewing machine
could be something wrong with the power cord
could also be something wrong with the motor
also could be a wiring problem

You have to unplug the power cord to the the foot pedal. The manual doesn't include this. And good stinkin luck with Sears or Kenmore customer service! Just pull the cord out of the machine and the start/stop button will work. Try it on a slower setting at first though. Also, if you need additional presser feet, Singer, Brother, Janome, and possibly other brands will usually work as long as they are the snap on type. I really do like my machine, good luck with yours!

Yes it does sound like a faulty foot control. The power cord is probably fine, you just need the controller. Ebay is a good source for parts.
