Can you be a bit more specific? Resetting default settings? What are you resetting exactly? A Full Factory recovery?

I have a NetGear WN2000RPT (WN2000RPT100NAS) Repeater and the connection works fine if you can get on it initially, but if you shut down and re-boot your lap top for instance, you are no longer able to...

There is something the matter with your router. If you reset it and it does not automatically resend DHCP to any device there is something wrong with it. Resetting it takes it back to default wherein by default, it is set up to automatically hand out DHCP. Need new router.

The Cisco System logo just stays orange, I attempted to repair on my lap top but it won't let me repair.

The router can be set to factory default by performing either of these two steps:

Resetting the Router Using the Reset Button
Resetting the Router Using the Web-Based Setup Page

NOTE: Pressing the Reset button on the back of the router for 30 seconds will reset your router to its factory default settings. All of the settings of the router will then be erased and the router's IP address will become 192.168.1.1.

To perform a hardware reset on your Linksys router, follow these steps:

Have lost the the security code they gave us when the router was changed. how do we find it or change it. the router is netgear DG834G it won`t let us log on any more lap top without the code

Before resetting the router, please try the user name 'admin' with the password 'password' or '1234'. These are the default user name and passwords for Netgear routers. If neither of these work, there is a small black button on the back of the router with 'Reset' written by it. Press this down and hold it for approximately 40 seconds, or until you see the lights blink on the front. Now you can access the router via your web browser using the default settings. All settings will need to be reinserted into the router. I will post a How-To on how to do that today.

Good Luck,

I used The FN and F5 key and it worked

Go to the point where you have a stable picture even if it is huge. Right click on an empty space on the desktop and scroll down to properties. Click on settings and increase the resolution a little at a time hitting apply and checking the display as you go. Keep hitting ok to the display settings if you like them. Find the resolution and display size that suites you.
