SOURCE: the remote for my samsung

Possibly. Maybe it's malfunctioning.

Read this procedure to possibly fix the remote:
http://remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Display&contents=help_deadremote&uuid=A12963989782821
They also sell replacement remotes.
Zoom in on the picture of the original remote provided on the site (or look at your own) and get the actual remote model number.

or check eBay: search for "(model of the device or the remote) remote", check the 'include description' box. Usually cheaper than the vendors.

Need help setting up samsung Ht-tx 72 dvd home theater system jus to get sound to come from tv thru the surround sound speakers

Look in the manual...

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Samsung-HT-TX72-Home-Theater-Systems-manual/id/2771dj593/t/2/

The TV >>receives<< Video and Audio from the Samsung. Page 19.

The unidentified TV with its unknown audio capabilites has a manual somewhere, too.

How many TV's are actual audio sources?

If the TV is actually a root source of programming (say, through its own antenna) you can run cables from it to the Samsung as you would any other audio source. If the audio really comes fro ma Cable Box THAT is where the best TV-related audio will come from.

My samsung ht-tx75 home theater system shuts off for no reason, any ideas of what it could be?

It sounds like you have either a thermal problem , or an electronic component fault in the power amp section. If the protection circuit is being activated, which disconnects the speakers so you have no sound, this is like to be the problem. Unless you are a trained technician, you should take it to a repair center. If the repair estimate is larger than you are prepared to pay (unlikely, unless it is a snobby shop) you have to decide whether to replace it with a new or used one.

The unit won't power on at all.

You can try replacing it with any 10 amp fuse just to see what happens. If a new fuse keeps blowing out then you have a shorted power amplifier inside(they consist of transistor or a single chip). These device look normal most of the time short out with any visual indication. If you desolder the power amp chips(they are mounted against an aluminum heat sink to dissipate heat) and the fuse quit blowing then it is the problem.

How do I hook up a ps2 so it will play in the surround sound for a samsung ht tx72

Your HT is only capable of inputting an external audio signal, either via analog RCA (red/white) or via an digital optical cable. The video of your PS2 will then be connected directly to the TV.
