SOURCE: install training wheels

when installing the training wheels, check to see if it is put together in this order ....flat washer, training wheel, flat washer, lock washer, nut. I hope this helps. If you are missing any of these you can find them at any auto parts store, Wal-mart, or hardware store such as Lowe's or Home Depot. (Be sure to take the traing wheel and nut to make sure you have the right size)

Huffy 12' bike front wheel doesn't fit

Mine had the same problem and there was no way bending the fork was going to work. It turns out they had installed an extral washer and nut on the axel. Take one off and retry fitting it. It may only go on one way. Make sure, before you tighten it, that the wheel turns freely.

I've got all the wheel nuts incl locking nut off my Golf back wheel, but can't get the wheel off, what am I doing wrong?

At a guess, you've got alloy wheels, assuming so, this is a common problem.

1) Make sure its on an axle stand, not just a scissor jack, and give the inside of the wheel a good old whack with a mallet, if you don't have a rubber hammer/mallet. Hold a piece of wood against the wheel and hit that.

or

2) Put the wheel nuts back on, just finger tight, then roll the car backwards and forwards, with luck the weight of the car should do the work for you.

When you put you wheel back on, put some copper grease on the hub to stop it sticking again.

My chain has fallen off, and I can't put it back on. Every time that i think I have it on there again, it falls off shortly after. I don't know if the first time it happened something feel off too...

Hi emsfy...

When you put your chain back on this time, you will need a open end adjustable wrench or a wrench that will fit the nuts that are on the rear axle shaft and wheel assembly.
When you get your wrench, loosen the two nuts (1 on each side of the axle) and pull the axle wheel assembly back towards the back of the slot the axel is sitting in to tighten the chain, when the chain is tight you will tighten the two axel nuts and the job is finished.
The chain will stay on now.
Please take time to rate me thumbs up

Hello, I bought my little girl the huffy 12in disney princess bike (blue) already assembled from walmart. she tried to ride it today, but when she pedals the back wheel spins, but the training wheels and...

ONE AT A TIME, loosen the nuts securing the training wheels to the rear axle and slide each one upward a little bit so it float a little bit off the ground when the bike is vertical, then retighten the nut.

As she develops her handling and balance skills she'll need less help from the training wheel. So you can gradually raise them a bit higher as she masters balance and then she'll develop the 'lean' for turning. Ultimately, you remove them entirely.

I hope she's wearing a properly-fitted helmet.

How do I lock up the axel on my bench grinder to retighten after replacing the wheels? Also what is the torque setting?

Just put a wrench on the nut on the opposite side to hold the spindle. They will both tighten at the same time. Tighten them "snug". The threads are made so the nuts will self tighten or should I say will not come loose due to the way the wheels turn and pressure from use is applied.

How do you install training wheels on the girls slumber party bike

Most training wheel kits come with directions in the kit. Do one side of the bike at a time. Start with the left side and when tightening the nut back up make sure the rear wheel is still centered in the fork . When you do the right side it is the same but you have to make sure the chain stays in adjustment as well as the wheel being centered. Usually you have to remove the nut on the side that you are working on. The kit should come with a little bar with a hole in it that fits over the bolt that you just removed the nut from. Make sure that the flat side faces out and the protrusions on the bar fit into the slots on the fork. Next mount the bar with the training wheels on the bike over the first bar. Put the washer supplied in the kit over that and then screw the nut back on. Pay attention to the wheel being centered and the chain being tight enough not to slip off the crank when pedalling. Make sure you get the proper size for the bicycle. There is a video here that explains it http://www.ehow.com/video_4974885_put-trining-wheels-bike.html
